LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a case against Brock Ward, 40, East Sixth Street, East Liverpool, was bound over to the county grand jury for fourth-degree felony assault and fifth-degree felony harassment by an inmate for an incident in East Liverpool on Feb. 8 when he allegedly spit saliva in the face of a police officer and kicked another officer in the leg. He was fined $150 and sentenced to 15 days in jail, with credit for eight days served, for disorderly conduct for trashing a hospital room while allegedly intoxicated in East Liverpool on Feb. 8.

A case against Donald Fiore, 57, Franklin Avenue, Salem, was bound over to the county grand jury for domestic violence, a third-degree felony, for allegedly fighting with a woman and causing injury to her head and legs on Feb. 9.

A case against Robert R. Smith, 47, last known address Hammond School Road, Wellsville, was bound over to the county grand jury for receiving stolen property, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly selling a stolen equipment trailer. The owner had reported the trailer stolen on Aug. 19, 2023 and the trailer was later located at a St. Clair Township residence. The resident reported he had purchased the trailer from Smith for $700.

Nicole Baringer, 34, West Washington Street, Lisbon was fined $250 and a 30-day jail term was suspended for disorderly conduct, amended from theft. She was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. Baringer stole $48 worth of items from the Lisbon Dollar General on Sept. 13.

A status hearing was set April 29 and a trial set May 8 for Levi Vollnogle, 29, West Martin Street, East Palestine, charged with violate protection order for allegedly violating a protection order on Sept. 9, 2023 on Columbia Street, Leetonia by texting a woman over and over for no reason.

A charge of violation of a protection order was dismissed against Andrew Buchs, 44, Bandy Road, North Benton, who was accused of texting and calling a victim’s cell phone numerous times.

Scott Ruble, 57, Winona Road, Hanoverton, was fined $250 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 179 days suspended and credit for one day served, for using weapons while intoxicated. A .22-caliber semi-automatic pistol was ordered forfeited to the Columbiana County Sheriff to be destroyed.

A pretrial was set Feb. 26 for Quantrel Samuel, 18, Y & O Road, East Liverpool, charged with aggravated menacing and domestic violence for allegedly threatening to light a juvenile on fire and having her cornered inside a St. Clair Township residence with no where to go on Feb. 14.

A pretrial was set Feb. 26 for Roy Moffett, 52, Wilbert Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with domestic violence for allegedly causing physical harm to a woman by allegedly pushing her up against a kitchen counter, putting his hand in her mouth to make it shut then put his weight on her and choked her on Feb. 13 in East Palestine.

A pretrial was set May 6 for John Schuster, Goshen Road, Salem, charged with telecommunications harassment for allegedly sending multiple messages and calling a woman after repeatedly being told to stop on Feb. 2 in Perry Township.

A pretrial was set Feb. 20 for Paul Jackson, 70, St. Clair Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with assault for allegedly assaulting hospital staff by striking a hospital employee and attempting to strike another after being told he couldn’t go outside to smoke at East Liverpool City Hospital on Sept. 20 in East Liverpool.

A pretrial was set March 19 for Christopher Wood, 30, Toronto, charged with disorderly conduct for an alleged incident Dec. 11 in East Liverpool.

A pretrial was set April 15 for Charles Slocum Jr., 32, Brookfield Avenue, Lisbon, charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs first offense, OVI breath first offense and a turn signal violation.

Samuel Albright, 39, St. Clair Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $520 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 170 days suspended and credit for three days served, leaving seven days still to serve, for OVI refusal with prior within 20 years, marked lanes and disorderly conduct, amended from endangering children. An additional charge of endangering children and a criminal damaging count were dismissed. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service. The charges stemmed from a traffic stop when he was impaired and had his child in the car while in possession of open beer cans.

Pedro Tomas, 21, Hawley Avenue, Salem, was fined $1,070 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program for OVI, no license and speeding. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service and his driver’s license was suspended for one year.

Shae Wenzel, 21, Alliance, was fined $150 for unsafe vehicle, amended from speeding.

A pretrial was set May 2 for Jacob Locke, 19, West Martin Street, East Palestine, charged with underage OVI and loud exhaust.

A pretrial was set May 9 for Kaylyn Beiling, 32, Girard, charged with speeding.

A pretrial was set April 8 for Lisa Ratliff, 40, North Lincoln Avenue, Salem, charged with driving under suspension.

Janie Chlebus, 20, Bye Road, Rogers, was fined $100 for an equipment violation, amended from a stop sign violation.

A pretrial was set May 9 for Krysta-jo Barber, 32, High Street, Washingtonville, charged with wrongful entrustment and no valid license.

Robert Lipman, 43, New Castle, Pa., was fined $150 for an equipment violation, amended from speeding.

Katina Kokkinos, 30, Homestead Drive, Columbiana, was ordered to pay costs after a stop sign violation was dismissed.

A pretrial was set May 9 for Lucas Gravely, 44, North Lima, charged with driving under suspension.

A pretrial was set April 4 for Danielle Vantilburg, 50, Y & O Road, East Liverpool, charged with driving under suspension.

Eugene Prendergast, 76, Knox School Road, Minerva, was fined $80 for no seat belt and left of center.
