LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a case against Anthony Davila, 46, Cleveland, was bound over to the county grand jury for third-degree felony compelling prostitution, fourth-degree felony attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and fifth-degree felonies of importuning and possessing criminal tools. Davila requested sexual conduct from a person he believed to be a 15-year-old female, but who was actually an undercover agent posing as a teen online, then drove to Salem on Jan. 27 for the meeting, with the phone he used to make the arrangements.
A preliminary hearing was set Feb. 15 for Regis Allgood, 33, Commerce Street, Wellsville, charged with third-degree felony domestic violence and fourth-degree felony strangulation for allegedly throwing a woman up against the wall of a Wellsville residence and choking her on Jan. 24.
A status hearing was set May 13 and a jury trial May 29 for Dwaynne Champney, 49, Brooklyn Avenue, Salem, charged with aggravated menacing, aggravated trespass and two counts domestic violence for allegedly picking up a woman and shoving her to the ground, then striking her in the back of the head with his fist and forcing another woman to the ground causing her head to hit the concrete on Sept. 20, 2023 in Salem Township. He had allegedly been told multiple times to leave the property that day and walked toward another man in an aggressive manner on the property, telling him he would get a piece of him later.
A pretrial was set April 11 for Daniel Resanovich, 61, Aliquippa, Pa., charged with domestic violence in 2004 for allegedly punching a woman in the arm and in the back of the head on Dec. 15, 2004 on Commerce Street, Wellsville. Resanovich was just served with the warrant for the charge Tuesday, nearly 20 years after the incident.
A pretrial was set Feb. 22 for Jesse Williams, 30, East Third Street, Salem, charged with domestic violence for allegedly pushing a door open at a Salem residence, causing the door to strike the victim, and then got into an altercation with another person, putting him in a headlock on Feb. 5.
Bradley Ake, 31, North Market Street, East Palestine, was fined $50 for disorderly conduct for jogging across the tracks nearly getting struck by a westbound train on Feb. 2 in East Palestine after the gates were down and lights were flashing.
Chelsea Madison, 48, Ravine Street, East Liverpool, was fined $150 for criminal damaging for throwing a brick through the window of a home in East Liverpool on March 16, 2023.
A pretrial was set Feb. 22 for Cera Lockwood, 21, Bye Road, East Palestine, charged with domestic violence for allegedly striking another woman in the face and chest with her fist and striking her multiple times with an open hand during an altercation on Feb. 2 in Columbiana County.
A domestic violence charge was dismissed against Kimberly Wellman, 52, West Fourth Street, Salem, with the stipulation that she pay court costs. Wellman had been accused of shoving a man into a counter while trying to get her phone back on May 24, 2023 in Salem.
Keven Morrison, 54, East Third Street, East Liverpool, was fined $250 and given a suspended 30-day jail term for disorderly conduct, amended from domestic violence. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. Morrison was accused of pushing a female juvenile into the refrigerator and she hit her arm off of the stove, then he destroyed her bedroom on July 27, 2022.
Andrick Cetor, 64, Struthers, was fined $100 for disorderly conduct for being publicly intoxicated on Jan. 16 in Columbiana.
Isiah Coulter, 22, Michigan Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $450 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 179 days suspended and credit for one day served for theft and criminal mischief. He was ordered to complete 50 hours community service and to have no contact with the Convenient Mart, East Liverpool. Coulter climbed onto an ice chest outside the Convenient Mart and took the security camera, then threw it and proceeded to throw items at the drive-thru window. He was also fined $250 for unauthorized plate and no license.
William Michaels, 35, Depot Road, Lisbon, was fined $250 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 29 days suspended and credit for one day served for disorderly conduct, with a charge of obstructing official business dismissed. He was ordered to complete 10 hours community service. Michaels had been harassing females inside a bar in Salem on Sept. 1, 2023 and was told by police officers multiple times to quiet down.
A pretrial was set Feb. 13 for Amber Cataldo, 31, Riverside Avenue, Wellsville, charged with confinement of vicious dog and dangerous dog for allegedly failing to keep terrier mix male dog locked in a proper pen and allowing the dog to run at large in 2023.
Casey Rockey Jr., 45, McKee Street, East Liverpool, was fined $500 each, with all the fines suspended, for two counts of failure to pay city income tax and four counts of failure to filed city income tax for failing to pay income tax in 2018 and 2019 in East Liverpool and failed to file city income tax returns in East Liverpool for 2020 through 2023. The fines were suspended with the condition that the defendant pay the tax as due and file timely returns.
A pretrial was set April 16 for Malinda Hall-Cervi, 53, Henry Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with two counts of failure to file city income tax return for allegedly failing to file an income tax return for East Liverpool in 2021 and 2022.
Ashley Doerfer, 34, Ohio Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $500 each for six counts of failure to pay city income tax, with all but $500 of the $3,000 fine suspended. She was ordered to file all due returns and make payments. Doerfer failed to pay city income tax to East Liverpool from 2017 through 2022.
A pretrial was set April 11 for Angelo Sposato, 20, Eagle Drive, East Liverpool, charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs first offense, driving under suspension, speeding and OVI above .238 urine first offense. A probable cause hearing will be held also regarding probation violations for a previous OVI case.
Deirdre Steiginga, 58, Walnut Grove Lane, New Waterford, was fined $875 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for OVI. Charges of failure to move left for public safety vehicle and speeding were dismissed. She was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and her driver’s license was suspended for one year. She was also fined $150 for disorderly conduct, amended from resisting arrest related to the April 27, 2023 traffic stop in Columbiana. A charge of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer was dismissed.
Ryan Mike, 36, Hillcrest Road, Wellsville, was fined $950 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 86 days suspended and credit for three days served in jail and three days served in a driver intervention program, for OVI and failure to control. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and his driver’s license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted.
A pretrial was set April 16 for Scott Anthony Johns, 44, Creek Road, New Waterford, charged with OVI first offense.
Mark Edwards, 51, 12th Street, Homeworth, was fined $245 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for failure to stop after an accident, reasonable control, possessing marijuana and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. His driver’s license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service.
A pretrial was set April 4 for Rame Omer, 29, Canfield, charged with speeding.
Mark Evans, 70, North Lima, was ordered to pay costs for a speeding charge, amended from speeding in a school zone.
Jose Calel, 21, New Philadelphia, was fined $150 for open container and illegal turn.
