LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary hearing was set Feb. 8 for Dalton McKinnon, 22, Lacroft Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with fifth-degree felony breaking and entering for allegedly trespassing in a Jefferson Street, East Liverpool property with purpose to commit theft. The victim said someone went into her garage and attempted taking items, but was interrupted by a babysitter at the residence. He was identified via surveillance footage.
Daniel Moretz, 29, Rochester Road, Homeworth, was fined $500 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 160 days suspended, leaving 20 days remaining to serve, for domestic violence and assault. A charge of unlawful restraint was dismissed at the request of the prosecutor. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and to have no contact with the victims. During a domestic disturbance on July 5 in New Waterford, Moretz was accused of locking a woman in the bathroom and blocking her from leaving, along with pushing her several times, with her falling on the floor several times from him pushing her. She had called someone else for help and when that person arrived, Moretz opened the door holding a large wrench and struck him in the leg, with the two fighting each other on the porch and onto the sidewalk.
A pretrial was set Feb. 12 for Ronald P. Sluss, 44, Ridge Avenue, Wellsville, charged with criminal damaging, driving under suspension, reckless operation, failure to report accident, reasonable control and two counts of domestic violence. On Jan. 28, Wellsville police officers were called to state Route 7 south before the Aten Avenue exit and were told that a man hit a woman in the stomach area. She wrote in her statement that he hit her in the head with a case of Twisted Tea and slammed the truck door on her twice. Sluss also allegedly hit the bridge on Lisbon Street, Wellsville with his vehicle on Jan. 28, with numerous traffic charges related to his actions.
A pretrial was set April 25 for Christopher Van Nguyen, 32, Coraopolis, Pa., charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranging for sexual activity with a female in exchange for $80, arriving in East Palestine on Jan. 3 for the meeting with the cell phone used to make the arrangements.
A pretrial was set Feb. 8 for Ronald Beaver, 37, Vernia Street, East Liverpool, charged with domestic violence for allegedly threatening to throw a juvenile out of a window in East Liverpool on Jan. 28.
Andrea Lightner, 44, Canton, was ordered to serve 20 days in jail, with credit for 10 days served, leaving 10 days remaining to serve for a probation violation on a 2023 case for charges of possessing criminal tools, attempted, soliciting and drug paraphernalia. Lightner was accused of soliciting sex for hire on an ad on a known prostitution website and arranging to meet an undercover officer for sexual activity in exchange for money, arriving in East Palestine on Jan. 5, 2023 for the meeting.
Clyde Hunt, 52, St. Clair Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $625 and given a suspended 180-day jail term theft, reasonable control and two counts driving under suspension. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service. He stole a duffle bag from the St. Clair Laundry Mat, East Liverpool on March 19, 2023.
Sabrina St. George, 33, South Market Street, East Palestine, was given a suspended 180-day jail term and was ordered to pay restitution of $630 to the victim for theft. She was also ordered to complete 40 hours community service. St. George took a purse from the victim’s cart where she left it at the Family Dollar in East Palestine on Dec. 1
A pretrial was set April 18 for Isaac Hickman, 19, Southeast Boulevard, Salem, charged with underage consumption, obstructing official business and disorderly conduct for allegedly being highly intoxicated in the area of East State Street and Southeast Boulevard in Salem on Jan. 27 while underage. While in custody, he allegedly attempted to walk out of the booking area at the Salem police station.
A pretrial was set April 23 for Jayden Long, 22, Alliance, charged with disorderly conduct for yelling and jerking the steering wheel from the passenger seat while a vehicle was moving Jan. 27 in Salem after previously being told to cease his disorderly conduct during a call the night before.
A pretrial was set April 29 for Christopher Zepernick, 43, Pine Street, Leetonia, charged with obstructing official business, driving under suspension and failure to stop after an accident for allegedly striking another car on Bears Den Street, Leetonia on Dec. 27 or Dec. 28 and leaving the scene. Police learned that he had driven the vehicle to his mother’s house on Georgetown Damascus Road and allegedly placed it in the garage to hide it from law enforcement. During an interview with police, he allegedly claimed his wife struck a deer.
A pretrial was set April 1 for Megan Detchon, 34, Waddell Street, Leetonia, charged with obstructing official business for allegedly hiding in the basement of a home on Waddell Street, Leetonia on June 27, knowing Leetonia Police officers were attempting to serve a warrant from Boardman Township police. She was found hiding behind the furnace and taken into custody.
A pretrial was set April 30 for Patricia Myers, 53, state Route 45, Wellsville, charged with infestation and screening for allegedly failing to maintain a property at Florence Street, East Liverpool free of insects after a cockroach infestation was reported in July 2023.
A probation violation hearing was set April 2 for Ian Wellington, 52, Fife Coal Road, Wellsville, for a 2022 case of two counts of discharging a firearm on or from roadway.
A pretrial was set April 2 for Norma Linville, 47, Wilbert Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with failure to file city income tax return and failure to pay city income tax for allegedly failing to file an East Liverpool city income tax return for tax year 2022 and failing to pay the tax due for tax year 2021.
James Pennock, 29, Canton, was fined $570 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 84 days suspended and credit for six days served, with three of those days in a driver intervention program, for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving under suspension and park on highway. His driver’s license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service.
Jacob Graffius, 23, East Fourth Street, Salem, was fined $905 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for OVI and park on highway. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and his driver’s license was suspended for one year.
Jacob Lallo, 33, North Madison Avenue, Salem, was fined $875 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for OVI. His driver’s license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.
Joseph Suggett Gregorino, 25, Cherry Street, Washingtonville, was fined $875 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for OVI. His driver’s license was suspended for one year. Charges of speed and OVI breath were dismissed at the request of the prosecutor.
Edward Cunningham, 60, Stratton, was fined $30 for an equipment violation, amended from speeding.
A private review/decision to the bench was set for Feb. 29 for Shaun Gleckler, 43, West Middletown Road, Salem, charged with failure to yield from stop sign.
Nicholas Svec, 34, Beaver Falls, Pa., was fined $75 for reasonable control.
Paul Beaver Jr., 34, Opal Drive, Wellsville, was fined $150 for driving under suspension, amended from unpaid fine.
A pretrial was set April 25 for Michelle Green, 55, Steubenville Pike Road, Lisbon, charged with driving under suspension and improper/expired registration.
A pretrial was set April 22 for Cynthia McGraw, 66, Echo Dell Road, East Liverpool, charged with failure to yield right of way.
Priscilla McCullough, 35, Columbia Street, Leetonia, was fined $100 for use of unauthorized plate.
