LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary hearing was set Feb. 1 for Jonathan Lagone, 21, Ohio Avenue, Salem, charged with fourth-degree felony domestic violence for allegedly putting a woman in a chokehold, fighting with her and throwing punches that connected to her arms and sides on Jan. 25 in Salem. The charge was a felony due to prior convictions.
A preliminary hearing was set Feb. 12 for Brian Pearl, 54, East Clark Street, East Palestine, charged with fourth-degree felony possession of drugs-fentanyl-related compound for allegedly possessing 1.42 grams of a fentanyl-related compound during a traffic stop on Nov. 8 in East Palestine.
Dawnyelle Dennis, 42, East Fifth Street, East Liverpool, was fined $300 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 165 days suspended and credit for 15 days served for domestic violence and aggravated menacing for attempting to grab a knife and threatening to kill a man during a domestic dispute on Jan. 11 in East Liverpool.
A fourth-degree felony operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs charge was dismissed at the request of the state against David Birch, 59, Failer Road, East Palestine. He had been charged for allegedly riding a bicycle while impaired on Nov. 24 in East Palestine.
A pretrial was set Feb. 1 for Zaine Husk, 25, Darner Road, Lisbon, charged with domestic violence for allegedly assaulting a woman on Oct. 28, 2022 in East Liverpool.
Markus McCallister, 20, Commerce Street, Wellsville, was fined $250 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served for criminal damaging. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service and have no contact with the victim. A restitution hearing was set March 28. McCallister was accused of busting out a window at a Wellsville residence with a brick.
A pretrial was set April 30 for Jeffrey Sigurani, 23, Youngstown, charged with criminal mischief and littering from vehicle for allegedly throwing four Amazon packages into a wooded area on Metz Road, Columbiana on Jan. 17 from his van. The affidavit said that prior to discarding the packages, he allegedly scanned them to make it appear he could not deliver them on the victim’s Amazon account.
Aundarcio Jackson, 32, Canal Winchester, was fined $450 and sentenced to 180 days in jail for resisting arrest, obstructing official business and failure to comply, amended from a felony to a misdemeanor for an incident on Dec. 11, 2020 when he fled from an East Liverpool police officer attempting a traffic stop and then crashed the vehicle in Chester, W.Va. Other charges of obstructing official business, possession of marijuana, failure to comply, reasonable control, reckless operation, plate light, driving under 12 point suspension, two counts driving under suspension, two counts speeding and expired license were dismissed, with Jackson ordered to pay court costs.
Richard Short, 56, Rose Drive, Lisbon, was fined $275 and sentenced to five days in jail, with credit for five days served, for theft, public intoxication and marijuana paraphernalia. Short was accused of stealing the tip jar containing $15 from East Pearl restaurant in Lisbon on Nov. 8, 2022 and had a marijuana pipe. He was voluntarily intoxicated on Oct 21, 2022 at the Lisbon Laundry.
Tyler Quimby, 26, St. George Street, East Liverpool, was sentenced to 20 days in jail for violating his probation for charges of criminal trespass and domestic violence for an incident on Aug. 24 in East Liverpool. He hit a woman in the face and head twice and threw her to the ground by her hair during a domestic, leaving before police arrived, then coming back later and entering the residence through a front window.
A pretrial was set April 23 for Zachary Perry, 28, Smithfield Street, East Liverpool, charged with two counts of failure to file city income tax return for failing to file East Liverpool city income tax returns for tax years 2021 and 2022.
A motions hearing was set Feb. 29 for Joel Gardner, 27, Canton, charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs first offense, OVI breath and speeding.
A pretrial was set March 25 for John Strader, 57, Michigan Boulevard, Salem, charged with a stop sign violation.
Robert Simms, 32, Ohio Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $300 for driving under suspension.
Chase Perkins, 25, Roosevelt Avenue, Salem, was fined $200 for driving under suspension.
Charles Hague, 51, McDonald Street, East Liverpool, was fined $100 for speeding-school zone.
Valerie Hawk, 65, Mechanicstown, was fined $100 for speeding.
Tyler Harrison, 21, West Lincoln Way, Lisbon, was fined $100 for driving under suspension.
Josue Morales, 39, Canfield, was fined $100 for plate light, amended from speeding.
Alexandria Burke, 26, Aliquippa, Pa., was fined $100 for unsafe vehicle, amended from marked lanes.
John Graham, 62, Southern Street, Negley, was fined $250 for unsafe vehicle and driving under suspension.
Max Clapsaddle, 46, Meadowview Drive, Salem, was fined $150 for an equipment violation, amended from stopped school bus.
Leah Casas, 26, North Lima, was fined $150 for speeding-school zone.
