Grand Jury
LISBON — Several defendants were served Monday with secret indictments issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury, including:
— Christopher Ewing, 39, Aetna Street, Salem, aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, with a specification for forfeiture of money from a drug case, for allegedly possessing methamphetamine and $71 on Sept. 10. 2021.
— Derrick Faulkner, 39, East Fourth Street, Salem, possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing alprazolam on April 9, 2022.
— Amber Maraldo, 40, Bloomfield Road, East Liverpool, illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse onto the grounds of a governmental facility, a third-degree felony, for an alleged incident Jan. 28.
— Donald Allgood, 35, Warren, two counts nonsupport of dependents, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly failing to pay child support for two children from July 4, 2021 to July 2, 2023.
— Jacqueline Weingart, 39, Newgarden Avenue, Salem, illegal use of supplemental nutrition assistance program benefits or WIC program benefits for allegedly receiving benefits illegally from May 1, 2021 to May 31, 2022.

LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary/pretrial hearing was set Nov. 30 for Bryon Freet, 32, North Jackson, charged with fourth-degree felony improper handling firearms in a motor vehicle and misdemeanors of engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranging for sexual activity with a female in exchange for $100, then arriving in East Palestine on Oct. 30 with a loaded gun in his vehicle.
A pretrial was set Feb. 5 for Gabriel Caraballo, 25, Youngstown, charged with possessing criminal tools, engaging in prostitution and possession of drugs for allegedly responding to an undercover ad on an known prostitution website and arranging for sexual activity with two two females in exchange for $80, arriving in East Palestine for the meeting in October.
Corey Venables, 33, Massillon, was fined $750 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and a 12-hour online educational course. Venables requested sexual activity from an undercover agent in exchange for $200, then drove to Salem on July 28 for the meeting.
George Barb, 44, Woodstock, Va., was fined $750 and given a suspended 30-day jail term for possessing criminal tools and disorderly conduct, amended from engaging in prostitution. He was permitted to buy out 40 hours community service for $400 and ordered to complete an online 12-hour prostitution prevention course. Barb was accused of responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranging for sexual activity with a female in exchange for money, arriving in East Palestine on July 26 for the meeting.
A pretrial was set Nov. 16 for Michael Stacy, 33, Maple Avenue, Wellsville, charged with assault for allegedly punching a man in the back of the head multiple times while in a car in the Burger King parking lot in East Liverpool on Oct. 30, ripping the victim’s shirt off while he was trying to get away.
A pretrial was set Feb. 1 for Christopher Ramirez, 20, Broad Street, East Liverpool, charged with criminal damaging for allegedly punching a woman’s car window and causing $254 damage on Oct. 19 in East Liverpool.
A pretrial was set Feb. 6 for Ashley Doerfer, 33, Ohio Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with six counts of failure to pay city income tax for allegedly failing to pay East Liverpool city income tax from 2017 through 2022.
A pretrial was set Feb. 6 for Bridget Brenneman, 25, West Sixth Street, East Liverpool, charged with six counts of failure to file city income tax returns allegedly for failing to file the returns in East Liverpool from 2018 through 2023.
A theft charge was dismissed against Mark Razo, 40, Salem Unity Road, Salem due to a lack of venue. The incident involved an alleged boat in a lot behind Home Depot on April 28, 2021.
Scott McKinney, 51, Lundy Avenue, Salem, was fined $920 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs and no license. His driver’s license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted. He was permitted to buy out 40 hours community service for $400. A charge of failure to yield was dismissed.
