LISBON — A Youngstown man accused of soliciting another person to send drugs to the Columbiana County jail was ordered to prison for nine months, but only after he’s done serving three years for a Mahoning County case.

Michael Faiola, 39, appeared in county Common Pleas Court for sentencing for attempted complicity in the commission of an offense, a fourth-degree felony. He was originally charged with complicity in the commission of an offense, a third-degree felony, related to a case of a woman charged with illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse onto the grounds of a specialized government facility, a third-degree felony.

The charge against Faiola stemmed from an incident March 7, 2022.

The nine-month prison term was ordered served consecutively to the other county’s case. Faiola was sentenced to three years in prison for charges of weapons under disability, a third-degree felony, and possession of fentanyl-related compound, a fourth-degree felony. In that Mahoning County case, charges of improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle, aggravated possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed.

Also in Common Pleas Court:

— Nehemiah Clinkscale, 23, Youngstown, pleaded guilty to a lesser offense of complicity, a third-degree felony, from the original charge of possession of fentanyl-related compound. Charges of aggravated possession of drugs and possession of heroin will be dismissed. Sentencing was set for Jan. 5. Clinkscale had originally been indicted for the three drug counts for possessing heroin, methamphetamine and fentanyl on July 8, 2022.

Municipal

LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary hearing was set Oct. 30 for Matthew Hormel, 40, East Martin Street, East Palestine, charged with third-degree felonies of tampering with evidence and failure to comply. Bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety. Hormel allegedly fled from a sheriff’s deputy attempting a traffic stop in Salem, committing multiple moving violations, including running a red light at State and Lincoln, finally stopping on Depot Road near the bypass. He was also observed allegedly throwing contraband out the window. Officers found the items, which were bags of suspected methamphetamine.

A preliminary hearing was set Nov. 2 for Harry Baum, 36, Wilbert Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with fourth-degree felony domestic violence for allegedly grabbing a woman and knocking her into a wall, causing her to strike her head on Aug. 28 in East Liverpool.

Roy Gingerich, 80, Uniontown, was fined $250 and given a suspended 30-day jail term for possessing criminal tools, with a charge of engaging in prostitution dismissed. He was ordered to forfeit $80 to the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force and permitted to buy out 40 hours community service for $400. He was ordered to complete a 12-hour online prostitution prevention course. He was accused of requesting sexual conduct from an undercover agent in exchange for $80 and driving to Salem on July 18 for the meeting.

A pretrial was set Nov. 2 for Delano Drumm, 40, Northside Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with domestic violence for allegedly forcing a juvenile to the floor, forcibly holding him down and then starting to cut his hair with scissors against his will on Oct. 24 in East Liverpool.

A pretrial was set Dec. 19 for Karen Brightwell, 61, East Main Street, East Palestine, charged with resisting arrest and obstructing official business for allegedly on Oct. 24 refusing to turn over a child when someone else was given temporary custody and then resisting arrest in East Palestine.

Chad Hiles, 38, West School Avenue, Salem, was fined $1,900 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 170 days suspended, leaving 10 days to serve for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs second offense, assured clear distance, leaving the scene and driving under suspension. His driver’s license was suspended for two years and ordered to complete 20 hours community service.

Mark Culley Jr., 31, Y & O Road, Wellsville, was fined $1,090 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 170 days suspended, leaving 10 days to serve for OVI, no motorcycle endorsement, unauthorized plate and tail light. His driver’s license was suspended for two years and he was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.

Adalee Moore, 31, Pleasant View Drive, Columbiana, was fined $920 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program for OVI and assured clear distance. Her driver’s license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted and ordered to complete 40 hours community service.

A pretrial was set Jan. 9 for Justin Bell, 34, Zigler Road, Hanoverton, charged with OVI first offense, OVI refusal with prior within 20 years, possessing marijuana and speeding.

Grace Ann Vargo, 18, Youngstown, was fined $920 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program for OVI and reasonable control. Her driver’s license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted, and she was ordered to complete 40 hours community service.

Jenna Nair, 36, Poland, was fined $390 and sentenced to 10 days in jail for driving under suspension and slow speed. The jail term was ordered served at the same time as a Mahoning County case. Her driver’s license was suspended for one year.

A status hearing was set Jan. 16, with a court trial set Feb. 6 for Jordan Swain, 36, Mattix Road, Lisbon, charged with illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing a small clear container with suspected narcotics residue inside on July 25 in Lisbon. He was also fined $200 for driving under suspension and unauthorized plate.

A pretrial was set Nov. 6 for Michael Lawler, 34, Richmond Heights, charged with possessing marijuana, driving under suspension and speeding.

An aggravated menacing charge was dismissed against Gary McCabe, 50, Steubenville Pike Road, Lisbon, at the request of the state due to the alleged victim’s whereabouts being unknown. McCabe was accused of threatening to kill a woman’s dog on July 16 in Lisbon.

Samuel Holshue, 21, Pleasant View Drive, Lisbon, was fined $295 and sentenced to three days in jail for driving under suspension and speeding.

A marijuana possession charge was dismissed against Marques Kimmie, 27, Cleveland, at the request of the city of East Liverpool because the East Liverpool Police Department was unable to provide evidence to the assistant law director.

Philip Stephan, 60, McCann Road, East Rochester, was fined $150 for driving under suspension.

Jenna Clancey, 28, Weirton, W.Va., was fined $150 for speeding.

Vasil Iremadze, 36, Cherry Hill, N.J., was fined $150 for unsafe vehicle, amended from speeding.

A pretrial was set Feb. 1 for Kaylynn Keener, 35, Rose Drive, Lisbon, charged with speeding.
