Grand Jury

LISBON — A Wellsville woman accused of being the driver in a drive-by shooting in Columbiana County in April was served Tuesday with a secret indictment issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury for a felony charge.

Jordyn Price, 26, McKee Road, Wellsville, was charged with a second-degree felony complicity to commission of an offense, along with a three-year firearm specification. According to the indictment, Price allegedly aided a co-defendant on April 13 in the commission of an offense by driving him past a victim’s residence while he fired multiple shots into the residence from the vehicle.

Also served with secret indictments were:

— Jonathan Rockhold, 49, Broadway Avenue, Wellsville, aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing methamphetamine on July 18, 2021.

— Richard Camerlin, 64, Chester, W.Va., possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing cocaine on Aug. 20, 2021.

LISBON — An East Liverpool man accused of possessing and selling methamphetamine was sentenced to 18 months in prison, which must be served after the term he’s already serving for domestic violence.

Joseph Koffel, 55, Smithfield Street, pleaded no contest in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court and was found guilty of aggravated possession of drugs and aggravated trafficking in drugs, both third-degree felonies, for possessing and preparing for sale methamphetamine on March 4, 2022.

He was also fined $5,000 for each charge.

The sentence was ordered served at the same time as a six-month sentence for an aggravated possession of drugs charge issued in April. The charge stemmed from Koffel possessing methamphetamine on Oct. 9. 2021.

In January, Koffel was sentenced to 18 months in prison for violating his probation on a third-degree felony domestic violence charge which dated back to May 22, 2021. He received credit for 88 days served in jail. Once he’s done serving that term, the latest sentence can begin.

Also in Common Pleas Court:

— David Shaw, 58, Steubenville Pike Road, Lisbon, was sentenced to 24 months in prison and fined $5,000 after pleading no contest and being found guilty of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, a third-degree felony. He received credit for one day served and his driver’s license was suspended for life. Judge Scott Washam stayed execution of the sentence to allow the defendant to appeal the denial of his motion to suppress the evidence. The incident occurred Oct. 23, 2022 in Lisbon.

— Bryan Dilling, 51, state Route 7, Lisbon, was sentenced to seven months in prison after pleading guilty to fourth-degree felony failure to provide notice of change of address. He failed on Feb. 15 to provide the sheriff’s office with his new address as required for sex offender registration. The term was ordered served consecutive to the seven-year sentence he served for two drug charges, a first-degree felony and a second-degree felony from 2015, but concurrent or at the same time as a six-month prison term for fourth-degree felony failure to provide notice of change of address and misdemeanor falsification for allegedly failing to report his address change as required of a registered sex offender in 2022.

— Kelly Reed, 34, Sunset Drive, Wellsville, pleaded guilty to prosecutor’s information for harassment with a bodily substance, a fifth-degree felony, with sentencing set for Jan. 25. The original indictment was waived. Reed had originally been charged with disorderly conduct and harassment by an inmate for a July incident at the Columbiana County Jail when she allegedly refused to go into her cell. The incident reportedly escalated and Reed was pepper sprayed after which she attempted to spit on correction officers.

— Jeffrey Meredith, 30, Wood Street, Wellsville, was placed on probation for three years and sentenced to 42 days in the county jail, with credit for 42 days served, for improperly handling firearms in a vehicle, a fourth-degree felony, and possession of fentanyl-related compound, a fifth-degree felony. Meredith transported a loaded weapon on Oct. 19, 2021 and possessed fentanyl on March 25, 2022.

— Charles McAfee, 46, Georgetown, Pa., was sentenced to 10 months in prison after pleading guilty to fifth-degree felonies of receiving stolen property and forgery for allegedly stealing a check and forging it on May 5, 2017. The prison term was ordered served at the same time as any sentence from two cases in the state of Pennsylvania from 2020. He received credit for two days served in jail.

— Brenda Diamond, 58, Wayne Bridge Road, Lisbon, was ordered to serve nine days in the county jail, with credit for six days already served, leaving three days incarceration for violating the terms of her probation for two counts of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. The drug charges stem from her possession of oxycodone and amphetamine on May 2, 2020.

— Karlee Walker, 23, Chester, W.Va., was placed into drug court for a period not to exceed five years for completion of the program after pleading guilty to third-degree felony tampering with evidence and misdemeanor obstructing official business. She received credit for one day served in jail. Walker had allegedly identified herself using her sister Asa’s information when charged for tampering with evidence after a March 5 incident on First Avenue, East Liverpool. A police affidavit said Walker was stopped for acting suspicious, running and hiding in residents’ yards and then stepped on a bag of white substance dropped by another person and threw it towards a house.

— Christian Ruble, 23, Lake Front Drive, Beloit, pleaded guilty to aggravated possession of drugs a fifth-degree felony, with sentencing set for Oct. 13. Ruble possessed methamphetamine on Sept. 2, 2022.

— Jacob Martin, 31, Staunton Avenue, East Liverpool, was placed on probation for three years after pleading guilty to a lesser offense of fifth-degree felony attempted assault and misdemeanors of aggravated menacing and disorderly conduct. The charges stemmed from an incident Oct. 8, 2022 when a threat was made against a police officer.

— Tammy Johnson, 55, McGavern Road, Salineville, was sentenced to nine months in prison for two counts aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for possessing methamphetamine and morphine on Nov. 12, 2021. She received credit for 11 days served in jail.

— John Kearns, 43, Farr Street, Rogers, pleaded guilty to possession of fentanyl-related compound, a fifth-degree felony, and a misdemeanor of possession of drugs, with sentencing set for Jan. 5 for allegedly possessing fentanyl-related compound and tramadol on July 7, 2022.

— Jonathan J. Nation, 34, Ohio Avenue, Salem, pleaded guilty to endangering children, a third-degree felony, for violating the care of a child March 17, 2020. A sentencing hearing was set Dec. 4. He faces up to 36 months in prison and a $10,000 fine.
