LISBON — An East Liverpool woman who violated her probation for two counts of nonsupport of dependents must serve up to six months at the Eastern Ohio Correction Center in Lisbon.
Casey Carter, 31, East Liverpool Road, had her probation for the two fifth-degree felony counts extended to June 19, 2026, but with the EOCC term required during a recent hearing in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court.
Carter failed to provide adequate support for two children from Jan. 24, 2021 to Jan. 22, 2023.
Also in Common Pleas Court:
— Aydn Hillier, 19, New England Square, New Waterford, was placed on an intervention plan for two years after pleading guilty to fourth-degree felony burglary for breaking into a vacant residence and being found inside on South Market Street in East Palestine on Jan. 22 after the home was discovered barricaded from the inside with a back door open.
— Christopher Lanning, 36, East Main Street, East Palestine, was placed on probation for three years after pleading guilty to two counts of nonsupport of dependents, a fifth-degree felony, for failing to pay child support for two children from April 25, 2021 to April 23, 2023. He was also ordered to pay $544.43 per month for support.
— Christopher Noel, 46, Howell Avenue, East Palestine, was placed on probation for two years during sentencing for nonsupport of dependents, a fifth-degree felony, for failing to pay child support for one child from Sept. 13, 2020 to Sept. 4, 2022. He received credit for one day served in jail and was ordered to pay $253.43 per month for support.
— Robert Cunningham Jr., 44, Fairview Park, was placed on probation for three years after pleading guilty to nonsupport of dependents, a fifth-degree felony, for failing to pay child support for one child from April 4, 2021 to April 2, 2023. He was ordered to make full monthly child support payments.
— Kerri Streffel, 35, Barclay Street, Salem, pleaded guilty to domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony, with sentencing set Nov. 16. A charge of obstructing official business will be dismissed as part of the plea deal. Steffel was accused of causing or attempting to cause physical harm to a man on April 8.
— William Beeson, 25, state Route 9, Salem, pleaded guilty to possession of a deadly weapon while under detention, a fifth-degree felony, with sentencing set Nov. 2. While under detention at the county jail, Beeson was accused of possessing a deadly weapon described as a piece of bent metal with sharp corners and a handle on Sept. 20, 2022.
— Jeremy Barnhill, 42, Altoona, Pa., pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of fourth-degree felony attempted compelling prostitution and a misdemeanor engaging in prostitution, with sentencing set Nov. 2. A fifth-degree felony of possessing criminal tools will be dismissed. Barnhill was accused of traveling to Columbiana on Aug. 23, 2022 where he had agreed to pay for sex with an adult female and a juvenile female after answering an ad on a website posted by an agent with the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force.
— Isaac Lemasters, 53, Salineville Road West, Salineville, pleaded guilty to fifth-degree felony permitting drug abuse and a misdemeanor of illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, with sentencing set Nov. 17. A charge of tampering with evidence will be dismissed. The charges stem from May 22, 2021 when he possessed drug paraphernalia and permitted his vehicle to be used for a drug abuse offense.
— Tyler Laughlin, 28, West Pittsburgh, Pa., pleaded guilty to possession of heroin, a fourth-degree felony, and possession of fentanyl-related compound, a fifth-degree felony, for possessing an amount of heroin equal to or greater than 10 unit doses, but less than 50 unit doses and possessing a fentanyl-related compound on June 5, 2021. Sentencing was set Sept. 22.
— Heather Marie Long, 39, state Route 518, Lisbon, pleaded guilty to a fourth-degree felony charge of illegal use of supplemental nutrition assistance program benefits or WIC program benefits for allegedly using the benefits in a manner not authorized from June 27, 2018 to May 31, 2019. Sentencing was set Oct. 30.
