LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a case against Curtis Gearhart, 39, Pine Hollow Road, Lisbon, was bound over to the county grand jury for a third-degree felony charge of tampering with evidence for allegedly attempting to delete the contents of his phone which had been taken into evidence by police after an overdose incident on May 7 in Lisbon.

A preliminary/pretrial hearing was set Sept. 14 for Lauren Paterson, 44, Beacon Light Road, Lisbon, charged with fifth-degree felony improper handling of firearms in a motor vehicle and misdemeanors of illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs first offense, operating while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and marked lanes. Paterson on Aug. 10 during a traffic stop allegedly possessed marijuana paraphernalia, a prescription bottle with a pill and a snort straw, along with a firearm.

A pretrial was set Oct. 30 for Cubanola Martin, 69, 14th Street, Wellsville, charged with aggravated menacing, resisting arrest and obstructing official business for allegedly not stopping when officers activated their overhead lights for a traffic stop, then stopped, getting out of the car and starting to walk away. When placed under arrest, he was pulling his hands away and yelling he was going to kill the officers on Aug. 8 in Wellsville.

A pretrial was set Oct. 31 for George H. Barb, 44, Woodstock, Va., charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranging for sexual conduct with a female in exchange for money, then arriving in East Palestine on July 26 for the meeting.

A pretrial was set Aug. 21 for Tomas Alonzo, 37, North Broadway Avenue, Salem, charged with falsification and domestic violence for allegedly pulling a woman’s hair on July 27 in Salem and for giving a wrong name during an incident in Salem on Aug. 10.

A pretrial was set Aug. 31 for Charles Gough, 24, West Washington Street, Lisbon, charged with assault for allegedly throwing a man into a vehicle and striking him multiple times on May 2 in Lisbon.

A pretrial was set Nov. 13 for Ethan Boyd, 26, Cream Ridge Road, Lisbon, charged with disorderly conduct for allegedly fighting on his own property and being disorderly on Aug. 6 after being told not to be disorderly.

A pretrial was set Nov. 9 for James Wilkes, 48, Stagecoach Road, East Liverpool, charged with obstructing official business and reasonable control for allegedly lying to police at an accident scene, claiming his “buddy” was driving his car and fled, but evidence allegedly showed Wilkes was the driver.

A pretrial was set Aug. 21 for Dylan Walsh, 22, Lacroft Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with obstructing official business, resisting arrest, no valid license, reckless operation and three counts driving under suspension. Walsh allegedly provided two false social security numbers after claiming he didn’t have his driver’s license with him, then gave his name and date of birth, but fled the vehicle after a traffic stop on June 15 in Liverpool Township.

A pretrial was set Aug. 21 for Thomas Dennis, 44, East Fifth Street, East Liverpool, charged for domestic violence for allegedly assaulting a juvenile by punching her in the back of the head and back three times on Aug. 11 in East Liverpool.

Justin Baker, 35, Ball Avenue, Wellsville, was fined $150 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 29 days suspended and credit for one day served, for disorderly conduct. He was ordered to complete 30 hours community service. Baker was accused of screaming and making verbal threats to neighbors, admitting to a deputy that he had been consuming alcohol on July 25 in Yellow Creek Township.

Joni Lynn McDole, 30, Maplewood Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $150 and sentenced to six days in jail, with credit for six days served, for illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia for possessing a meth pipe during a traffic stop on Aug. 2 in Liverpool Township.

A pretrial was set Nov. 13 for Devon Leroy David Taylor, 22, Annesley Road, East Liverpool, charged with theft for allegedly failing to scan and pay for 36 items totaling $113 at the Calcutta Walmart on Aug. 4.

A pretrial was set Oct. 24 for Robert Cornman, 55, Dodge Street, East Liverpool, charged with drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing a burnt pipe with residue while a passenger during a traffic stop on July 26 in St. Clair Township.

Samantha Gallimore, 34, Pancake Clarkson Road, Rogers, was fined $200 and sentenced to five days in jail, with credit for five days served, for possession of drug abuse instruments for possessing an uncapped syringe, bottle cap with residue, small spoon with residue, and a clear container with a white rock substance inside on March 10 in East Liverpool.

A pretrial was set Nov. 9 for Dylan Davis, 36, Main Street, Leetonia, charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, operating while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and turn signal violation.

Logan Snay, 23, Second Street, Hanoverton, was fined $895 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 135 days suspended and credit for 30 days electronically monitored house arrest, leaving 15 days to serve in jail, for OVI and speeding, with his driver’s license suspended for two years. A charge of no motorcycle endorsement was dismissed.

A pretrial was set Aug. 22 for Matthew Runkles, 37, East Martin Street, East Palestine, charged with speeding and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

A pretrial was set Oct. 24 for Derrick Hooper, 41, Youngstown, charged with driving under suspension and speeding.

A pretrial was set Nov. 9 for Zachary Harden, 19, Sherman Street, Lisbon, charged with no valid license and reasonable control.

A pretrial was set Oct. 19 for Timothy Deily, 46, Allendale Avenue, New Waterford, charged with OVI first offense and tail lights.

Zachary Tice, 30, Cleveland Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $150 for driving under suspension and expired registration.

Terry Fone, 55, Holiday Street, East Liverpool, was fined $150 for reckless operation, amended from OVI first offense.

Humberto Miguel Marcos, 22, East Third Street, Salem, was fined $100 for driving under suspension.

Tyrin Howell, 19, Youngstown, was fined $150 for driving under suspension and speeding.

Grand Jury

LISBON — An East Liverpool man whose home was raided by the Columbiana County Drug Task Force last month was indicted this week on multiple drug charges, along with specifications for allegedly being a major drug dealer.

Khalide Moore, 25, Gardendale Street, was charged by the county grand jury with first-degree felonies of possession of cocaine, trafficking in cocaine, possession of fentanyl-related compound, trafficking in fentanyl-related compound, a fourth-degree felony receiving stolen property and specifications for forfeiture of money in a drug case and major drug offender specifications.

Moore was charged after the Columbiana County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at his residence on July 18 and found a large bag of suspected narcotic tablets and a large bag of suspected narcotics in a cabinet in the kitchen. Lab tests confirmed the 994 tablets contained fentanyl and the other substance was 583.04 grams of cocaine. The currency totaled $25.

Moore’s case was one of 25 open indictments issued by the county grand jury on Wednesday afternoon after meeting for two days, along with 37 secret indictments. The secret indictments aren’t released until defendants are served with the paperwork.

Other open indictments issued were:

— Steven Weyand, 32, Madison Avenue, Salineville, felonious assault, a second-degree felony, and misdemeanor criminal damaging for allegedly assaulting another man with some type of object in his hand on July 4 in Salineville, injuring the victim. He also hit the windshield of a woman’s car on July 1 in Salineville.

— Joshua Gorby, 47, South Market Street, East Palestine, attempted aggravated arson, one a second-degree felony and one a third-degree felony, fifth-degree felony possessing criminal tools and misdemeanors of domestic violence and endangering children for allegedly threatening to burn down his South Market Street home after pouring gasoline around the perimeter during a lightning-laden thunderstorm June 15. Through the investigation, police learned the defendant allegedly poured gasoline around the back of the home, on the back porch and in the detached garage. He then went into the home and evacuated a child, advising her he was going to burn the house down. The affidavit noted the incident took place during a thunderstorm and the lightning strikes could have ignited the gasoline. Criminal tools included a 5-gallon gas can and a lighter.

— Wilbert Faulk, 64, Youngstown, breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony charge, for allegedly breaking into a home in St. Clair Township on June 19, where he was caught by police after trying to exit multiple times through windows or doors and had stolen hats in his backpack.

— Tia R. Miller, 33, Martin Avenue, East Liverpool, having weapons while under disability, a third-degree felony, for allegedly having a firearm in her possession on May 9 while under indictment for a felony drug charge.

— Lee Givens, 36, East Taggart Street, East Palestine, fifth-degree felonies of breaking and entering and receiving stolen property and fourth-degree felony receiving stolen property for allegedly entering a residence on South Market Street, East Palestine on May 5 and possessing a stolen checkbook and a drug on June 5.

— Sara Noling, 36, East Taggart Street, East Palestine, fifth-degree felonies of breaking and entering and receiving stolen property and fourth-degree felony receiving stolen property for allegedly entering a residence on South Market Street, East Palestine on May 5 and possessing a stolen checkbook and a drug on June 5.

— Brandon Byers, 30, 18th Street, Wellsville, second-degree felony burglary for allegedly entering a residence on June 6 with the purpose of committing theft.

— Richard P. Smith, 36, Riley Avenue, East Liverpool, third-degree felony failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer and fourth-degree felony receiving stolen property for allegedly leading deputies and law enforcement on a high-speed chase after fleeing from the county municipal court parking lot in a stolen car belonging to Collen Tranter on July 6.

— Malik Pullie, 26, Commerce Street, Wellsville, third-degree felony failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer for allegedly fleeing from police attempting a traffic stop, traveling at a high rate of speed through a residential school zone with several children and teachers outside on May 10.

— Christopher Brink, 43, Franklin Avenue, Salem, third-degree felony tampering with evidence and misdemeanor illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing a plastic bag used for the storage of dangerous drugs during a traffic stop in Salem on April 6. During the traffic stop, Brink allegedly crumpled and threw a piece of evidence behind him while exiting the vehicle.

— Billie Thompson, 41, Youngstown, third-degree felony illegal conveyance of prohibited items onto grounds of detention facility for allegedly dropping off narcotics at the county jail for a corrections officer to pick up and deliver into the jail on June 10.

— Destiny Cline, 22, Gardendale Street, East Liverpool, third-degree felonies of illegal conveyance of drugs onto the grounds of a detention facility and complicity in the commission of an offense for picking up a package of alleged narcotics allegedly dropped off by Billie Thompson to deliver into the jail and having the package in her possession. Cline was a corrections officer.

— Todd Sevek, 37, state Route 154, Lisbon, fifth-degree felony theft and fourth-degree felonies of telecommunications fraud and theft from a person in a protected class for allegedly taking money from an elderly woman’s bank account in Wellsville from April 17 through April 26, stealing her debit card and taking $2,563.

— Austin Maxon, 26, Water Street, Salineville, second-degree felony burglary, fourth-degree felony assault, fifth-degree felony obstructing official business and misdemeanors of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct for allegedly headbutting a deputy trying to take him into custody after a reported disturbance June 9 on Water Street, Salineville while he was allegedly under the influence. He also scratched up and bruised the arm of another deputy while resisting arrest. When taken into custody, Maxon allegedly possessed a BB gun that was later reported stolen by a Salineville resident who said someone had entered his home and taken the gun.

— Zachary Willis, 29, Vine Street, Salem, third-degree felony failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer and misdemeanors of resisting arrest and driving under suspension. Willis allegedly fled from Perry Township police attempting a traffic stop on June 29 on South Lincoln Avenue at Southridge Drive, driving recklessly at speeds over 100 mph to avoid arrest for an outstanding felony warrant out of Louisville, passing vehicles unsafely and almost causing a crash with other vehicles.

— Troy Jones, 42, First Avenue, East Liverpool, tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony, and misdemeanor obstructing official business for his alleged actions when the Columbiana County Drug Task Force and Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at his residence. He allegedly flushed an unknown amount of crack cocaine down the toilet, with pieces of crack cocaine seen by agents on the toilet seat and in the toilet bowl.

— Jesse Schisler, 38, Franklin Avenue, Salem, misdemeanor criminal trespass for allegedly entering a woman’s residence on East Pershing Street in Salem on July 11.

— Randy Lee Newberry, 64, Morris Road, Lisbon, two counts of fifth-degree felony charge of illegal use of minor or impaired person in nudity-oriented material or performance and misdemeanors of engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly contacting an undercover social media account maintained by an agent and arranging for sexual conduct with a female in exchange for methamphetamine, arriving in East Palestine on March 20 for the meeting with his cell phone. A search of his phone revealed two images depicting a female juvenile in a state of nudity.

— Maiko Valoy, 40, Deltona, Fla., third-degree felony compelling prostitution, fourth-degree felony attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and fifth-degree felony possessing criminal tools for allegedly answering an undercover ad posted on a known prostitution website for a 15-year-old female, arranging for sexual conduct with the teen, who turned out to be an undercover agent, in exchange for money and arriving in East Palestine on July 11 for the meeting.

— Jason Fitzsimmons, 48, Woodville Road, Leetonia, fourth-degree felony attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, fifth-degree felonies of importuning and possessing criminal tools and misdemeanors of two counts operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs for allegedly contacting a female he believed to be 15 years old via Facebook Messenger on an undercover social media account, soliciting sexual conduct from the female and arriving in East Palestine on March 20 for the meeting intoxicated.

— Bryan Adams, 27, Kingwood, W.Va., third-degree felony compelling prostitution, and fifth-degree felonies of attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, possessing criminal tools and importuning for allegedly requesting sexual conduct from an undercover agent posing as a 15-year-old female in exchange for $140 and traveling to Salem on July 6 for the meeting.

— Jacob Pollock, 25, Homosassa, Fla., third-degree felony compelling prostitution, fifth-degree felonies of attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, possessing criminal tools and importuning. Pollock allegedly requested sexual conduct in exchange for $160 from an undercover agent posing as a 15-year-old female, traveling to Salem on June 28 for the meeting.

— Donovan Crytzer, 22, West Fourth Street, East Liverpool, fourth-degree felony strangulation and misdemeanors of domestic violence and endangering children for allegedly physically strangling a woman by placing his hand around her neck until she could not breath on July 9 in East Liverpool, all while a child was nearby screaming and crying during the alleged assault.

— George Feezle, 48, Enon Valley, Pa., misdemeanors of domestic violence and assault for allegedly pushing a woman’s phone in an aggressive manor striking her in the face and threatening her and assaulting a different woman during a domestic disturbance on May 22 in East Liverpool.
