LISBON -- In Columbiana County Common Pleas Court, cases against Zachary Ricky Lee Cline, 34, Globe Street, East Liverpool, were bound over to the county grand jury for fourth-degree felony burglary and misdemeanors of theft and criminal damaging. Cline allegedly trespassed in a home on June 7 in East Liverpool after previously being evicted, with a door damaged and window broken in the door. On June 23 , he allegedly left the Calcutta Walmart without paying for six items totaling $558.
A preliminary/pretrial hearing was set July 27 for Brittney Coleman, 31, Campbell, charged with third-degree felony tampering with evidence and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing a metal pipe with chore boy in an area of the vehicle where she was allegedly seen placing an item after reaching into her pants during a traffic stop on July 19 in Elkrun Township.
A competency evaluation by the Forensic Psychiatric Center of Northeast Ohio was ordered for Mason A. Patchin, 23, listed as homeless with a last known address in Salem, who's charged with misdemeanor assault amended from felonious assault, obstructing official business, theft and drug paraphernalia. Patchin was accused of being in an altercation with another man on July 10 in Salem and lunging at him with a pair of scissors, giving a false name to police officers when they caught him after the altercation and possessing a burnt straw with residue during a traffic stop when he was a passenger on June 15 in Salem. The theft charge stemmed from Patchin allegedly stealing an e-bike from a garage in Salem on June 28 and then selling it to someone for $40. Three probation violation hearings also remain pending the outcome of the competency evaluation.
A status hearing was set Aug. 11 and a court trial was set Aug. 31 for James M. Myers, 42, 13th Street, Wellsville, charged with assault for allegedly shoving an 11-year-old child backwards and then picking him up and throwing him down at a Wellsville property on Danbury Avenue during wrestling practice on Feb. 2.
A status conference hearing was set Sept. 21 and a court trial was set Oct. 5 for Cheyenne M. Bush, 20, state Route 644, Kensington, charged with assault for allegedly being involved in an assault involving a knife on May 2 in Hanover Township.
Elliott Emanuel Springston, 42, Charles Street, East Liverpool, was fined $500 for obstructing official business amended from violation of a protection order, with a charge of domestic violence dismissed. He was accused of striking a woman who had a protection order against him on April 27 in East Liverpool. The charges were amended and dismissed at the request of the prosecutor. The alleged victim was not cooperative.
A pretrial was set Sept. 14 for Ryan Matthew Hoschar, 29, Lisbon Road, Salem, charged with OVI second offense, marked lanes, OVI third offense, OVI refusal and reasonable control.
A pretrial was set July 22 for Patricia Exline, 48, Honey Lane, Leetonia, charged with OVI, OVI breath, open container and marked lanes.
Clarissie E. Zellers, 44, was fined $500 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, with 20 hours community service, for physical control. Another count of physical control was dismissed.
Sean Glenn Hutton, 37, East Taggart Street, East Palestine, was fined $565 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, with 20 hours community service, for OVI. A charge of failure to control was dismissed. His license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted.
