Shirley Mellinger
COLUMBIANA – Shirley M. Mellinger, 81, died early Monday at St. Mary’s Alzheimer’s Center.
She was born May 30, 1935 in Enon Valley, Pa., the daughter of the late Clark I. and Agnes (Tyson) McCowin.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church of North Lima.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luster C. Mellinger; a daughter, Janis Stephenson; three sisters, Pearl Dunham, Edith Spooner and Olive Durk; and four brothers, Everett, Paul, Ralph and David.
Survivors include three sons, Larry of Columbiana, Robert of Warren and Jeff of Columbiana; a daughter, Judy Trussell of Columbiana; two sisters, Frances Young and Luella Brunner, both of Columbiana; 12 grandchildren, two of whom she raised, Jennifer and Ken, and 13 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held 5 p.m. Sunday at Calvary United Methodist Church, North Lima, with Pastor Renae Meggitt officiating.
