Lisbon barber wins sign dispute in court
LISBON — The warm glow of the Brian’s Barbershop sign continued to glow over the village’s historic district Friday night, its owner cleared of all charges facing him.
County Municipal Court Judge Mark Frost issued a judgment entry Friday declaring Brian Davis, West Lincoln Way, not guilty of the four counts of displaying an internally lit sign in a historic district he had been facing.
“We feel the system didn’t let me down. They actually listened to all sides and determined what was the law,” Davis said Friday afternoon after learning of the decision in his favo.
Salem YWCA to close its doors
November 7, 2009SALEM — The YWCA of Salem became the latest victim of the economy, with Executive Director Susan Hays announcing Friday the nearly 53-year-old organization will close its office by Dec. 31 and dissolve by May 2011.

Apple OSX 10.6 - Snow LeopardMon, July 6, 2009 @ 4:09PM While there don't seem to be any drastic improvements in the interface, Apple's Snow Leopard OSX 10.6 operating system promises to use next generation technologies to "unleash the power of today's advanced hardware." What I am most excited about is the lower price of the upgrade $29, instead of the typical $129. In addition, the OS is supposed to speed up the shut down time to a fraction of what it currently takes. Unfortunately for some Mac users, the new system will only run on Intel based machines, this rendering all pre-Intel G-5s and other units non-upgradable. This new system should arrive some time in September, 200.

Transformers 2 Revenge of the FallenWed, June 24, 2009 @ 8:03PM Here is a short description of the movie, if you don't want to know before you see it then skip the following paragraph. The movie picks up where the first left off, opening with the Autobots in league with a secret arm of the military searching out and destroying hidden Decepticons whose purpose on earth is still not fully known. The action starts right away and the Autobots learn of the ominous threat of The Fallen. The story then shifts to Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) as he prepares to go off to college. After finding a shard of the Allspark in his clothes, he once again becomes a target of the Decepticons. At college he discovers his new roommate is obsessed with conspiracy theories about the transformers, but that is the least of his problems when the Decepticons attack. The President decides that the Autobots do more harm than good and dissolves their alliance, making the job of finding out what the Fallen is much harder.
