ST. CLAIRSVILLE — East Liverpool senior Maddox Roach is always ahead of the pack. Roach ran away with victories in the 800 and 1600 meters at the St. Clairsville Coach Dave Porterfield Invitational on Friday. Roach won the 800 meters by 3 1/2 seconds with a personal-best time of 1:56.26 after winning the 1600 meters by 17 1/2 seconds in a season-best 4:23.87. There were 37 runners in the 1600 and 34 in the 800 at Red Devil Stadium. Also for East Liverpool, sophomore Meshach Harris and senior Kailynn Kirby had second-place finishes. Nastari gains ground GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Junior Kaleb Nastari is gaining ground on the Penn State University men’s track team. Nastari, a former United High School state champion, was ninth out of 64 runners in the 800 meters at the Pepsi Florida Relays on Saturday. He ran 1:47.38 on the Pearcy Beard Track.
