COLUMBIANA — The 2026 Clipper Cross Country Series got off to a fast start Wednesday. Former Southern Local standout Logan Redfern topped the 103-runner field by covering the new 1.8-mile middle school course in 9 minutes, 54 seconds. There were 103 runners in the opening race at the Ward Athletic Complex. It was the debut on the new course that was necessitated by construction at the school. Ohio state champion Columbiana lost 15-0 in four innings to Illinois state champion Evergreen Park in a Little League Central Regional elimination game Wednesday at Anderson County Community Park. FIELD OF DREAMS DYERSVILLE, Iowa (AP) — Iowa will play Kansas in an exhibition baseball game at the Field of Dreams ballpark on Oct. 10, the Iowa athletic department announced Monday.
