Div. II Gallia Academy GALLIPOLIS — Six Beaver Local wrestlers reached the semifinals of the Div. II district wrestling tournament on Friday at Gallia Academy. Jordan Bates (106 pounds), John Burkett (113), Jeryck Boyd (120), Bobby Buchheit (150), Jake Hughes (157) and Evan Ours (165) are all onto Saturday’s semifinals. For East Liverpool, Kyle Ingram (106), Wyatt McCune (132) and Xavier Lara (190) are onto the semifinals. Bates will face Ingram for a chance to go the 106 final. HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Two Oak Glen wrestlers will go for state titles today in the final day of the West Virginia Div. II state wrestling tournament at Mountain Health Arena. Jordan Tomsic and Noah Schmidt both won two matches on Friday to advance to their respective weight class finals. Tomsic, a junior, earned his spot in the 106 pound final with a 5-2 win over Aaron Barb of East Hardy in the semifinal.
