GENEVA, Ohio — Three Columbiana County boys captured state championships at the Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches Association 2026 indoor high school state track and field meet at the SPIRE Institute on Friday and Saturday. Salem senior Lucas Adams won the Division II long jump, while East Liverpool senior miler Maddox Roach and Beaver Local junior high jumper Landon Wheatley captured Division III titles. The Lions captured their first district title after a third straight trip to the district finals. GALLIPOLIS — Beaver Local produced two champions on Saturday at the Div. II district wrestling tournament at Gallia Academy High School. Freshman Jordan Bates topped New Lexington’s Brody McNabb 9-4 in the 106-pound bout and improved to 44-2 on his way to his first state tournament berth.
