AKRON -- West Branch junior Emma McLaughlin came up short in a playoff for the third and final state golf berth on Tuesday.
McLaughlin and Mineral Ridge senior Savannah Turek tied for seventh overall with 18-hole scores of 84 in the Division II girls district tournament at Good Park Golf Course.
Lakeview junior Olivia Norris and Champion sophomore Avery Robinette took the top two individual berths, tying for fifth with 82s.
The top three teams and top three individuals not on a qualifying team advance to the state tournament, which will be held Oct. 11-12 at Firestone Country Club’s Fazio Course in Akron.
Chagrin Falls junior Elizabeth Pollock was the medalist with a 73.
The three teams that advanced were Ravenna Southeast (338), Chagrin Falls (348) and Keystone (352).
Warren Champion was fourth (362), Columbiana fifth (369), Mineral Ridge sixth (372), South Range 10th (396) and West Branch 11th (397).
For Columbiana, senior Claire Banner tied for 10th (86), Columbiana senior Maddie Jackson tied for 14th (89), senior Victoria Buckingham tied for 30th (94), senior Nia Missos tied for 49th (100) and sophomore Ashlynn Day tied for 62nd (106).
For South Range, junior Khloe Shodd tied for 24th (93), junior Lily Susak tied for 47th (99), junior Gianna Nagy tied for 53rd (101), senior Kelsi Carter-Novello and freshman Payton Papuga teed for 57th (103).
For West Branch, junior Emma McLaughlin tied for seventh (84), senior Isabella Linger and senior Zoe Metzger tied for 49th (100), freshman Maddie Dye 69th (113) and sophomore Evelyn Smith 73rd (127).
United sophomore Claire Whetstone tied for 45th (98) and Salem freshman Audrey Beck was 56th (102).
There were 73 golfers in the field.
