Clippers out front in EOAC

EAST PALESTINE -- Now that the Columbiana cross country teams are on top of the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference, they won’t be leaving soon.

The Columbiana girls captured their third straight league title and the boys their second straight during the EOAC Meet Tuesday at East Palestine City Park.

Columbiana Jace Zelonish and Sidney Schlueter are the individual winners.

Zelonish won the boys race, covering the 3.1-mile course in 19 minutes, 00.79 seconds.

Schlueter captured the girls race in 22:25.31.

Columbiana won both team titles by nine points over United.

The Columbiana boys won with 30 points.

Following Zelonish for the Clippers were sophomore Peyton Boggs in fourth, sophomore Nolan Clark sixth, freshman Carson Greene seventh and junior Michael Conrad 12th.

The Columbiana girls also won with 23 points.

For the Clippers were Schlueter in first, junior Kaitlin Benner second, junior Aubrie Quetot fifth, junior Sydney Webb sixth and senior Ashlyn Peak 11th.
