WELLSVILLE -- Rileah Phillips totaled 22 points, 23 assists and seven digs as United swept Wellsville, 25-12, 25-17, 25-18, Thursday.
The Eagles won their fourth in a row to improve to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference. They will play at unbeaten Columbiana on Tuesday for the league lead.
Columbiana, United and East Palestine are unbeaten in the EOAC.
Maelee Smith contributed 13 points, nine kills and no errors and Lily Erb had nine digs.
For Wellsville, Aleena Owens had three kills, nine digs, seven assists, one ace and one block. Kaylee Kazee added four digs and an assist. Madie Drysdale had six kills, six digs, an assist, two aces and three blocks.
Kenzie Bosco had three kills and eight digs; Ella Betz nine digs; Jonnah Sears 10 digs and two aces; and Gabby Carr one block.
Wellsville drops to 1-5 and 0-3 in the EOAC. The Tigers will play at East Palestine on Tuesday.
COLUMBIANA 3, VALLEY 0
YOUNGSTOWN -- Columbiana remained unbeaten by sweeping Valley Christian, 25-6, 25-6, 25-5, in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference play Thursday.
The Clippers improve to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in the EAOC. They will host United in a battle for the league lead.
Columbiana was led by Hailee Gomoll with 15 points and four aces; Addison Dangler 14 points, 10 aces and three kills; Landry Smith 14 points, eight aces and four kills; Keagan Pruitt nine points and four aces; Ava Marks two points and six kills; and Eva Waller 17 assists and three kills.
Columbiana also won the junior varsity match, 25-0, 25-2, to improve to 5-0.
Briley Schmidt topped the Clippers with 25 points and 19 aces. Sylvia Rapp had 14 points, eight aces and three kills, Adelaide Garrett five points and four assists and Sydney Schorjs served two aces.
TORONTO 3, LISBON 0
TORONTO -- Toronto’s volleyball secured a 25-18, 25-22, 25-7 win over Lisbon on Thursday.
For the Blue Devils, Alayna Householder had four aces and five kills. Addison Anderson had five kills. Lilly Lipply and Gionna Lenigar had three kills and three points each. Bridget Newbold had nine assists, while Hannah Davis 20 digs and three assists.
Lisbon (2-4) is at Steubenville Central on Saturday.
Toronto won the jayvee portion 25-20, 17-25, 25-23. Ella Cochran had 15 assists, five kills and five digs. Gracyn Owens had 10 kills and eight assists. Sydney Tremnel and Carrie Hager each had seven kills. Roman Adams had four kills. Kylyn Boyd had six aces and 15 digs. Johanna Ford had 13 digs.
CRESTVIEW 3, SOUTHEAST 0
RAVENNA -- Crestview’s volleyball team came away with a 25-16, 25-18, 25-16 win over Southeast on Thursday in Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference Gray Division play.
Sophia Noling had 14 kills and three aces. Bella Ciapala had 10 kills. Phiatra Bradley had three blocks. Kerrigan Miller had 15 digs and four aces. Addison Wendell had 18 assists and two aces.
Crestview won the jayvee match 25-13, 25-14. Jewlnetta Bradley had four aces and five kills. Kenna Ray had five kills and eight digs.
Crestview won the freshman match, 25-11, 25-11. Ansley Headland had six kills and two digs.
WEST BRANCH 3, MINERVA 0
BELOIT -- West Branch’s volleyball team swept Minerva in three sets on Thursday.
The Warriors are 6-3 overall and 2-0 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference and have won five straight.
West Branch is at Carrollton on Tuesday.
EAST PALESTINE JVS
SALINEVILLE -- The East Palestine junior varsity volleyball team got in its seventh victory Thursday before a power outage postponed the varsity match.
The East Palestine JVs beat Southern, 18-25, 25-23, 25-17.
For the Bulldogs (7-1), Delaney Demster had eight aces and 10 digs, Aliviana Valingo six kills and Marley Haldiman three aces and seven digs.
East Palestine will host Wellsville for a varsity-only contest at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
