EAST PALESTINE -- Columbiana remained unbeaten with a 25-12, 25-23, 25-12 sweep of East Palestine on Tuesday.
The Clippers are 9-0 overall and 6-0 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference, one game ahead of United.
Ava Marks totaled 13 points, three aces, six kills and nine digs for the Clippers. Addisyn Dangler had 11 points and nine kills, Hailee Gomoll 11 points and eight digs, Keagn Pruitt seven points, nine kills and five digs, Landry Smith five points and six kills and Eva Waller three points, 28 assists and six digs.
East Palestine moves to 8-4 and 4-2 in league play.
Topping the Bulldogs were Marley Blythe six kills and 11 digs, Kennedy Andre 15 assists and six digs, Destiney Burtyk five kills and seven digs, Cadence Vargo 11 digs and Emma Gingher seven points with four aces
Columbiana also won the junior varsity match, 25-10, 25-10, as Briley Schmidt had 12 points and eight assists. Adelaide Garrett had five points, four aces, four assists and six digs; Sylvia Rapp four points, four kills and seven digs; Annabelle Church three points and six kills; and Keegan Reynolds nine digs.
For the East Palestine, Delaney Demster had four points and 14 digs, Aliviana Valingo five kills and Aubrey Oltmann three kills and three digs.
Both teams play Thursday as Columbiana hosts Southern and East Palestine visit Lisbon.
UNITED 3, LISBON 0
HANOVERTON -- United stayed within striking range in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference volleyball race Tuesday.
The Eagles spiked Lisbon, 25-23, 25-19, 25-19, to improve to 7-2 overall and 5-1 in the EOAC, one game behind Columbiana. United will play at at Valley Christian on Thursday.
Chloe Angelo had six kills and two blocks and Maelee Smith five kills and four blocks to lead the Eagles. Scarlett Courtney had seven service points with two aces.
Leaders for Lisbon were Gionna Lenigar with seven kills and two blocks, Addison Anderson six kills and six digs, Alayna Householder four kills and five digs, Hannah Davis 12 digs, Ariel Dickey eight digs and two aces, Lexi Roush seven digs and Bridget Newbold 20 assists.
Lisbon drops to 3-8 and 1-5in the EOAC. The Blue Devils host East Palestine on Thursday.
United also won the junior varsity match, 25-21, 25-18.
For the Eagles, Ella Humphrey had six kills and six digs, Swyndalen Hayes six points, three aces and 12 digs and Cora Baker five points, three aces, 11 assists and two kills.
For the Blue Devils, Gracyn Owens had five kills and three aces and Kylyn Boyd made five.
HEARTLAND 3, SOUTHERN 2
SALINEVILLE -- Heartland Christian rallied to win the last two games and beat Southern, 27-29, 25-17, 17-25, 25-22, 15-6, Tuesday.
The Indians (4-7) will play at unbeaten Columbiana on Thursday.
Addi Martin had 15 points and 10 digs, Katie Kellogg 11 points and 10 kills and Kalayah Crute 10 points, eight kills and two blocks for the Indians. Kiah Sloan had 14 kills, Eliana Forbes 15 assists, Delaney Beadnell 16 points and Raelea Carosiello two kills.
Southern won the junior varsity match, 25-16, 25-7, as Mary Beadnell had nine points with four aces and Addison Andrenok five points and eight assists.
CRESTVIEW 3, CHAMPION 1
CHAMPION -- Belal Ciapala had 13 kills and Sophia Noling 12 kills in leading Crestview past Champion, 25-20, 20-25, 25-11, 25-12, Tuesday.
Kerrigan Miller totaled five aces and 24 digs, Addison Wendell 20 assists, Sarah Hively six kills and three blocks, Phiatra Bradley five kills and Madi Keyser 12 digs.
Crestview also won the junior varsity match, 25-20, 25-15. Makenna Ray had six kills, five aces and five digs and Claire Crable 17 assists and two aces for the Rebels.
Crestview will host Youngstown Mooney today.
BEAVER 3, WHEELING PARK 0
WHEELING, W.Va. -- The Beaver Local volleyball team improved to 7-2 with a 25-22, 26-24, 25-19 win against Wheeling Park on Tuesday.
For the Beavers, McKinnley Ferry had 23 assists and nine digs, Katie Miller four kills and twoblock assists, Olivia Opalenik four kills and three block assists, Taylor Pease 19 digs, Madison Poppelriter four kills and two digs, Leah Schrieber three kills, two aces, eight digs and two block assists, Lily Schrieber 13 kills, three aces, eight digs and three block assists and Addie Thurik 14 kills, 12 assists, two aces and 10 digs.
Wheeling Park won the junior varsity match, 25-21, 25-21.
For the Beavers, Daisy McKnight had four kills, Kylie Gbur five assists and three digs, Macie Bourne three kills, Makayla Jungfleisch three kills and Maddie Smith four assists and five digs.
Beaver Local won the freshman match, 25-23, 25-17. For the Beavers, Daisy McKnight had six kills, Kylie Gbur three kills, five assists and four aces, Maddie Smith five assists, three aces and three digs, Ella Watson three kills and five digs and Sophia Pease seven digs.
The Beavers host Harrison Central on Thursday with JV starting at 5:30 p.m.
WELLSVILLE 3, VALLEY CHRISTIAN 0
WELLSVILLE -- Wellsville’s volleyball team defeated Valley Christian 25-13, 25-10, 25-15 on Tuesday.
Kenzie Bosco led Wellsville with four kills, one dig and 12 aces. Madie Drysdale added four kills, two digs, five assists, seven aces and one block. Irelyn Roberts had four kills, while Jonnah Sears had three kills, six assists and one ace.
Gabby Carr added three kills. Aleena Owens had two kills, two assists and two aces, while Ella Betz recorded three digs and three aces.
Wellsville returns home today against Leetonia.
OAK GLEN 3, WEIR 0
NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. -- The Oak Glen volleyball team swept Weir, 25-10, 25-9, 25-17, Tuesday to improve to 12-5 on the season.
Leaders for the Golden Bears were Naomi Ayers with kills, six aces and nine digs, Zoey Caughey eight kills, Mattie Carney, three kills, Laikynn Eckleberry three kills, Caetlyn Six three kills, Mikalyn Balch 20 assists and two kills, Bryson Adams six assists, Kendall Six five aces and five digs and Keira Vick five digs.
Oak Glen also won the junior varsity match, 25-6, 25-20.
For the Golden Bears, Elynn Rogers had four kills, six assists and two aces, Lilli Cole four aces and two kills, Kennedy Staley three kills, Kaia Parish two kills, Doedee Woolley two kills,Theresa Robinson eight assists, Bristol Eckleberry three aces and Katie Kliner six digs and two aces.
