POLAND -- Ronin Sutter scored on a 35-yard shot two minutes in the match as the Salem boys soccer team scored a 1-0 win over Poland on Thursday.
Salem improves to 6-3-1, while Poland drops to 9-2.
It snapped a nine-match winning streak in which Poland outscored the competition a combined 49-2. It was the Bulldogs’ first loss since a 4-0 defeat at Marlington on Aug. 15.
Salem will travel to Akron Manchester on Saturday.

WARREN -- Warren JFK’s boys soccer team nipped United 3-2 on Thursday.
Jude Andrea and Marvin Schreiber scored for the Eagles. Dylan Williams had an assist.
Aiden Gundersen had seven saves in goal.
United is 6-4-1 and will be at LaBrae on Saturday.
WEST BRANCH 3, MOONEY 2
BELOIT -- West Branch’s boys soccer team beat Cardinal Mooney 3-2 on Thursday night.
West Branch is 9-2 and will host Salem on Tuesday.
