MINERAL RIDGE -- Devin Kelly, Jett Vrable, Wyatt Newbold and Elijah Brown had interceptions in leading Lisbon past Valley Christian, 28-14, Saturday night at Mineral Ridge High School.
Lisbon improves to 3-3 overall and 1-2 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference. Valley drops to 1-5 -- scoring 33 points in the five losses -- and 1-2 in league play.
The Blue Devils were outgained 218-182 in total yards, but got the four turnovers.
Aiden Davis totaled 13 tackles with 3 1/2 for losses for the Lisbon defense. Cooper Terdina added eight tackles and Dvin Kelly seven.
Brown had a 40-yard interception return, Newbold a 36-yarder and Vrbable a 22-yarder.
Lisbon quarterback Grant Minor ran for two touchdowns and a caught a 60-yard touchdown pass from Terdina. Minor ran for 69 yards on 16 carries and was 7-of-9 passing for 29 yards.
He accounted for 158 of Lisbon’s 182 yards of offense.
Minor scored on runs of 12 and 1 yard and had a touchdown catch to give the Blue Devils a 21-7 lead late in the first half.
The Eagles closed to within 21-14 midway through the third quarter, but that’s the only scoring they got in the second half.
Kelly ran 12 yards for a Lisbon touchdown with 10:04 to play in the game to close out the scoring.
Baylen Jackson was 4-for-4 on extra-point kicks.
Both teams continue league play Friday with Lisbon at Wellsville and Valley at Columbiana.
