Leetonia Hall of Fame adds six new members

LEETONIA -- The 23rd class of the Leetonia Athletic Hall of Fame was inducted Sept. 5 at a breakfast held in their honor.
Inductees are:
MARK ESKAY (Class of 1990) was inducted as an athlete. Mark was a four-year letterman in track and field. Mark threw the shot put and discus and held the record in both events. Mark qualified for the state track meet in 1989, placing fourth in the shot put (51-feet-11), also qualifying in 1990. Mark also earned letters in basketball and baseball. After graduation Mark attended The Ohio State University earning a degree in Allied Medicine and has worked as a physical therapist at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center for over 29 years. Mark and his wife Carol have a son Evan and daughter Elena and reside in Hilliard, Ohio.
JOE BRUDERLY (Class of 2002) was inducted as an athlete. Joe was a four-year letterman in football earning league honors, Quad County honors, All Northeast Ohio honors, all area honors, honorable mention All-Ohio and best defensive lineman. Joe also was a four-year letterman in track and field. Joe threw the shot put and discus and received the following honors: league and Columbiana County champion in the shot put, field event MVP at the F.E. Cope Invitational, state qualifier, and honorable mention all-state. Joe also was a two-year letterman in basketball. After graduation Joe attended Youngstown State University earning a degree in education. Joe returned to his alma mater and has taught math for 18 years. Joe and his wife Lindsey have two daughters Delaney and Emersyn and live in Youngstown.
EMILY GOERIG COOK (Class of 2007) was inducted as an athlete. Emily was four-year letterwinner in Track and Field in the shot put. Her accomplishments include league and Columbiana County champion, district shot put holder, three-time regional qualifier, two-time state qualifier, fifth place at state meet in the shot put (40-feet-1 1/2), and second place in the Jesse Owens Classic. Emily also earned letters in softball and volleyball. Her senior year in volleyball she had the record for most digs, earning All-Columbiana County honors and league honors. After graduation Emily attended Capital University and became a four-year letterman and record holder in the shot put and discus and a two-time All-American. She was inducted into the Capital University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2025 for her achievements. Emily earned a degree in art education and has been an art teacher at Crestview High School for the past 12 years. Emily and her husband Jim reside in Youngstown.
BRANDON DATTILIO (Class of 2013) was inducted as an athlete. Brandon was a three-year letterman in football and was a running back, safety and kicker. Brandon earned first-team honors in the ITCL, Columbiana County, Morning Journal All-Area, Quad County, Northeast Ohio, All-Ohio honorable mention and played in the Penn-Ohio Stateline Classic. Brandon was a four-year letterman in baseball and played shortstop and secondnd base. He earned league honors for three years. He held school records in runs scored, singles in a season, runs scored in career, and singles in a career. Brandon also was a two-year letterman in baseball and earned league honors. After graduation Brandon attended Youngstown State University, earning a degree in civil engineering. He went on to earn his professional license in the state of Ohio. Brandon resides in Barberton.
IAN SEVENICH (Class of 2013) was inducted as an athlete. Ian was a four-year letterman in baseball where he excelled. He has career records at bats, hits, doubles, triples and runs batted in, and season record with 40 hits. Ian had a batting average of .400 in his high school career. Ian was also a letterman in basketball, football, and golf. After high school Ian began a career in the skilled trades. He is employed as a crew leader with Dearing Compressor & Pump. Ian and his wife Emily live in Leetonia and have two sons Porter and Boone.
TRENT FERRY (Class of 2015) was inducted as an athlete. Trent was a four-year letterman in basketball, three-year letterman in basketball, and two in baseball. In basketball Trent earned numerous honors including Morning Journal All-Area Player of the Year, Columbiana County Player of the Year, all-league, Northeast Inland all-district, Curbstone Coaches, WYTV 33 Player of the Year, all-time leading scorer with 1,349 career points and many more. In football, Trent earned league honors, Quad County, Morning Journal All-Area, and Columbiana County.
After graduating Trent attended Ohio State University, earning a degree in exercise science and went on to receive his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Ohio University. He became an American Physical Therapy Association Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. Trent is employed with On-Site Solutions Physical Therapy as a physical therapist.
