HANOVERTON -- Beaver Local’s boys soccer team cruised to a 5-1 win over United on Thursday.
The Beavers are 9-0-1, while the Eagles fell to 5-3-1.
Beaver Local will play in the OVAC Class 5A tournament on Tuesday. The Beavers will likely be the top seed and will likely host No. 4 seed John Marshall. Official pairings will be released in the next few days.
United opted out of the OVAC tournament and will host Jackson-Milton on Monday.
COLUMBIANA 0, STEUBENVILLE CC 0
COLUMBIANA -- Columbiana played to a 0-0 draw with Steubenville Catholic Central on Thursday in boys soccer action.
The Clippers (7-2-1) are likely to qualify as the second seed in the OVAC Class 1A-3A tournament. Columbiana will likely host Monroe Central on Tuesday. Official pairings will be set in the coming days.
Steubenville Catholic Central is 3-2-4.
OAK GLEN 7, INDIAN CREEK 1
NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. -- Oak Glen’s boys team tried inching closer to an OVAC tournament spot with a 7-1 win over Indian Creek on Thursday.
The Golden Bears (5-4) were just on the outside edge of the OVAC Class 4A playoffs on Thursday and will have to wait to learn their fate.
Indian Creek is 0-8.
SALEM 3, MINERVA 1
MINERVA -- Salem’s girls soccer team kept its unbeaten mark in the Eastern Buckeye Conference alive with a 3-1 win over Minerva on Thursday.
The Quakers are 6-4 and 3-0 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference. The only league games left for the Quakers are a trip to Carrollton on Wednesday and a home game against West Branch on Sept. 30.
Minerva is 3-6 and 0-2.
