BEAVERS ON A ROLL
WEIRTON, W.Va. -- The unbeaten Beaver Local girls soccer team notched its fourth straight shutout with a 6-o win against Weir on Tuesday.
Peyton Dunn had a part in all the scoring with three goals and three assists.
Leah Stewart collected one goal goal and two assists, Jansen Ours one goal and one assist, Natalie Woodyard one goal and Tatum Duncan one save.
Teneille Diaz-Wilson made one save in goal.
The Beaver (4-0) will play at St. Clairsville on Thursday.
UNITED SET FOR SHOWDOWN
HANOVERTON -- Jude Andrea had three goals and two assists in leading the United boys soccer team past Liberty, 9-1, Monday.
Abram Ceresna had two goals and one assist and Gavin Coffee one goal and three assists. Also scoring goals were Zach Blake, Liam Jones and Ryan Miller. Owen Moser and Caisen Wright had assists. Aiden Gundersen recorded one save in goal.
United (2-1) travels to Kidron Central Christian, a Division V state semifinalist last season, at 7 p.m. Thursday.
BRANCH PREVAILS
SALEM -- The West Branch girls tennis team blanked Salem, 5-0, Tuesday at Waterworth Memorial Park.
The Warriors improve to 2-3 overall and 2-1 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference. The Quakers drop to 1-4 and 0-1 in the EBC.
West Branch will host Warren JFK on Wednesday.
