Redfern sweeps Clipper Cross Country Series

COLUMBIANA -- Former Southern Local standout Logan Redfern made it a clean sweep in the 2026 Clipper Cross Country Series.
Redfern won for the fourth straight week as he captured the final race Wednesday at the Ward Athletic Complex.
Redfern, the first Southern Local runner to qualify for the state cross country meet, along with Columbiana junior and defending Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference champion Kaitlin Benner captured the male and female series championship -- based on their finishes in each of the four races.
Redfern topped the 123-runner field Wednesday, finishing the 3-mile high school course in 17 minutes, 8 seconds.
Beaver Local seventh-grader Samantha Williams was the top female finisher in 19:26. Benner was second.
