Eagles put six past Bristol

HANOVERTON -- United’s girls soccer team hammered Bristol 6-0 on Wednesday.

The Eagles scored four in the first half and two in the second.

Elli Powers had four goals for the Potters. Hailey Chuck also had a goal. Bella Thompson had two assists. Chuck and Mary Marhefka had single assists. Cheyenne Chuck had nine saves.

United is 2-0 and is at East Liverpool on Tuesday.

SALEM 2, SPRINGFIELD 1

SALEM -- Salem’s girls soccer team came back from a one goal halftime deficit to beat Springfield 2-1 on Wednesday.

Chaya Murray and Peyton Jackson scored for the Quakers.

Salem is 2-1 and heads to Canfield on Saturday.

CRESTVIEW 5, SOUTHEAST 1

COLUMBIANA -- Crestview’s boys soccer team downed Southeast 5-1 on Wednesday.

Danny Novak and Jaden Moore had two goals each. Carson Barber added another goal. Aiden Deem, Brody Pancake, Arthur Gelbecke and Jackson Dolan all had assists.

Gelbecke had seven saves in goal.

Crestview is 3-0 and is at Newton Falls on Aug. 26.

COLUMBIANA 5, EAST LIVERPOOL 0

EAST LIVERPOOL -- Columbiana’s girls soccer team blanked East Liverpool 5-0 on Wednesday.

The Clippers led 2-0 at the half.

Columbiana is 1-0 and is at Girard on Aug. 31.

East Liverpool is 1-2 and hosts Steubenville Catholic Central on Saturday.

WEST BRANCH 6, AUSTINTOWN 1

AUSTINTOWN -- West Branch’s girls soccer team scored its second straight road blowout win over a large Mahoning County school with a 6-1 win over Austintown on Wednesday.

West Branch is 2-0 and has outscored its opponents 14-1.

Elli Colian scored three for the Warriors, while Grace Bates, Alinee Bacconi and Ellie Tucker also scored. Cambrie Nezbeth had three assists. Grace Bates also had an assist.

West Branch won the jayvee game 4-0. Hensley Biery had three goals.

The Warriors open the home slate against Hubbard on Saturday.

SOUTHEAST 3, CRESTVIEW 2

COLUMBIANA -- Crestview’s girls soccer team fell to Southeast 3-2 on Wednesday.

Shelby Wellman and Chloe Houck had goals for the Rebels.

Clarice Harroff added three saves.

Crestview is 1-2 and will host Garfield on Saturday.

EAST LIVERPOOL 5, INDIAN CREEK 3

EAST LIVERPOOL -- East Liverpool’s girls soccer team was a 5-3 winner over Indian Creek on Tuesday. Ani Campbell and Emily Hernandez had two goals each for the Potters. Addy McCready had the other score. Campbell, Paige Cowan and Maleah Galeoti had assists. Nariyah Monteiro had 11 saves.

BEAVER LOCAL 10, CAMBRIDGE 3

CAMBRIDGE -- Kaden Mays had four goals and an assist, while Brandon Smith added three assists and a goal in Beaver Local’s 10-3 rout of Cambridge on Tuesday.

Lucas Price, Logan Roerts, Grady Reed and Cael Dunn also had goals. Roerts added two assists. Landon Wheatley and Brody Nign had assists.
