In the first round, Eli Stewart shot a 76, Brady McNear shot a 79, Britton Hickman shot an 82, Andre Wiegand shot an 84 and Nathan Pusateri shot a 93.
St. Clairsville leads by 13 strokes with a 290. East Liverpool shot a 353.
The second round of the Buckeye 8 tournament is scheduled for Sept. 1 at Belmont Hills Country Club.

CALCUTTA -- Crestview defeated Newton Falls 175-197 in a boys golf match Monday at Beaver Creek Meadows.
Derek Duvall and Grant Snyder led Crestview with matching 40s. Logan Neff shot 46 and Landon Hildreth 49.
Newton Falls was led by Aiden McCausland with a 41. Gavin Grunder shot 48, Cruz Marquette 53 and Zander Fitzgibbon 55.
Crestview will host Garfield today at Beaver Creek Meadows.
LIONS BATTLE TOP TALENT
AVON -- Minerva’s Peyton Beaumariage took 15th with a 76 on Monday at the Magnificat Invitational at Avon Oaks Country Club.
Minerva was eighth overall with a 333. Emery Sell added a 81, Delaney Sell 87 and Savanna Bartley 89.

EAST PALESTINE WINS OPENER
ANDOVER -- East Palestine defeated Pymatuning Valley 25-14, 25-18, 19-25, 25-15 Tuesday to open the season.
Destiney Burtyk led the Bulldogs with 12 kills, 12 digs and 14 points. Kennedy Andre had 24 assists, 10 digs and 11 points, while Marley Blythe added eight kills and nine digs. Violet Glavan served 15 points, including six aces, and Emma Gingher had seven kills, three blocks and four digs.
The Bulldog junior varsity won 25-18, 25-20. Amira Bilali had seven points and five kills, Liv Valingo added five points, five assists and four kills, and Marley Haldiman had five points and four aces.
The Bulldogs are at Grand Valley Wednesday.
