CALCUTTA -- Beaver Local’s girls soccer team recorded its third straight shutout to start the season by besting Indian Creek 9-0 on Saturday.
Leah Stewart scored twice and had three assists for the Beavers. Peyton Dunn added two goals and two assists. Riley Springer and Faith Brokaw had two goals each. Jansen Ours had a goal and two assists. Lilly Johnson had an assist. Tatum Duncan had two saves.
Indian Creek is 0-2.
Beaver Local is at Weir High on Tuesday.
OAK GLEN 7, RAVENSWOOD 3
RAVENSWOOD, W.Va. -- Oak Glen’s girls soccer team got four goals and two assists from Bailey Watts in a 7-3 win over Ravenswood on Saturday. Kendall Krzys had the other three goals. Angelina Polly and Brianna Polly had two assists each. Camryn Richards had five saves.
Oak Glen is scheduled to host John Marshall on Tuesday.
STEUBENVILLE CC 6, EAST LIVERPOOL 0
EAST LIVERPOOL -- Zoe Wise and Zélie Bailargeon had two goals each in Steubenville Central’s 6-0 win over East Liverpool on Saturday.
The Potters fall to 1-3.
East Liverpool hosts United on Tuesday.
CANFIELD 1, SALEM 0
SALEM -- Canfield’s girls soccer team edged out Salem 1-0 on Saturday at Sebo Stadium.
Freshman Layla Hewitt had 16 saves in goal for Salem, 2-2.
Salem is at Howland today.
WEST BRANCH 2, HOWLAND 0
BELOIT -- West Branch’s girls soccer team secured a 2-0 win over Hubbard on Saturday in a game shortened by thunder storms.
Hensley Biery and Elli Colian had goals in the game which was stopped with 15:35 left. Cambrie Nezbeth added an assist.
Audrey Eaton had the shutout in goals.
West Branch (3-0) is at Howland Wednesday.
