Beaver Local duo headlines OVAC group

WHEELING - The Ohio All Stars revealed their Defensive Backs and Wide Receivers for Saturday's 80th annual OVAC Rudy Mumley Football Game at Wheeling Island Stadium.

Kickoff is set for 7:15 p.m.

A brief capsule of each player follows:

TUCKER McELROY (Beaver Local) - This 6-2, 180-pounder made 68 tackles last season for the Beavers.

He played for head coach Mike McKenzie at Beaver Local. He will continue his education at Youngstown State University.

McElroy is the son of Jeremy and Rebecca McElroy of East Palestine.

NICOLAS McKENZIE (Beaver Local) - A 6-0, 160-pounder, McKenzie caught 32 passes for 390 yards and five touchdowns as a senior. Defensively, he had 18 tackles and a pair of pass breakups.

He was a first team all-Buckeye 8 performer and earned honorable mention all-Eastern District.

He played for his father, Mike, at Beaver Local and will head to Youngstown State University in the fall.

In addition to his father, Nicolas is the son of Nicole McKenzie. They reside in East Liverpool.

BRADY FAIR (Toronto) - A dual threat for the Red Knights on offense, the 5-9, 170-pound Fair finished his career with 1,462 yards receiving and 24 touchdowns. He also ran for 912 yards, returned a kickoff and a punt for six points each.

He earned third team all-Ohio honors in Division VII.

He played for head coach Jaret Aubiel and will continue his college career at Kent State University.

Fair is the son of Melissa Fair and Paul Duffy Jr. They reside in Toronto.

KAMDEN WRIGHT (Conotton Valley) - A 5-9, 160-pounder, Wright caught 253 career passes for 3,329 yards and 38 touchdowns for the Rockets and also ran for 554 yards on 102 carries.

Defensively, he made 325 career tackles and picked off 21 passes.

Wright played for head coach Derek O'Hara at Conotton Valley and will head to Geneva College in the fall.

He is the son of Casey Robinson and Justin Wright and resides in Gnadenhutten.

OLLIE MUHLY (St. Clairsville) - This 5-9, 160-pounder was the team MVP for the Red Devils last season when he ran for 1,135 yards and 15 TDs. He also caught 19 passes for 288 stripes and four more scores. Defensively, he logged 15 tackles, a pair of interceptions and defended six passes.

He earned all-Eastern District and all-OVAC honors while playing for head coach Brett McLean.

He will continue his education at Ohio University in Athens.

He is the son of Morgan and Jim Muhly of St. Clairsville.

ZACH BRYAN (Steubenville Catholic) - A four-year letterman for the Crusaders, the 5-11, 150-pounder earned first team all-OVAC and second team all-Eastern District honors his senior season.

Bryan caught 12 passes for 169 yards and a pair of touchdowns last season, while making 45 tackles, intercepting three passes and recovering a pair of fumbles. He also recorded two quarterback sacks.

He is the son of John and Kara Bryan. They reside in Steubenville.

TREVON WIGGINS (Steubenville) - This 6-0, 184-pounder is a third generation player in the game as his grandfather, Ben Wiggins, played in the 1983 game, while his uncle, Trey, was a member of the 2010 Ohio team.

He played for head coach Reno Saccoccia at Big Red and will continue his career at Muskingum University.

He is the son of Lisa Ostrowski and they reside in Steubenville.

ETHAN CUTLIP (Shenandoah) - A 5-10, 165-pounder, Cutlip caught 18 passes for 400 yards and half-a-dozen touchdowns last season for the Zeps. He also amassed 300 yards in kick and punt returns.

He earned honorable mention on the all-OVAC and all-Eastern District teams and was a seconds-team all-MOVL selection.

He played for head coach McMcLean at Shenandoah.

He is the son of Amy and Luke Cutlip of Quaker City.

CHAZ CULBERTSON (Harrison Central) - This 5-9, 180-pounder made 221 career tackles for the Huskies while picking off a pair of passes. He also had 23 receptions for 205 yards and two TDs.

He was a first team all-OVAC and all-Buckeye 8 selection, while earning second team all-Valley and honorable mention all-Eastern District.

He played for head coach Anthony Hayes at Harrison Central and will head to Ohio Northern University in the fall.

Culbertson resides in New Athens with his parents, Randy and Tessa Culbertson.

JAKI THREET (Bridgeport) - A 6-foot, 180-pounder, Threet was a threat every time he touched the ball for the Bulldogs. He was a four-year starter.

During his senior campaign, he ran for 1,511 yards and 21 touchdowns while passing for 543 stripes. Defensively, he made 64 tackles and intercepted a pair of passes.

He was the Eastern District Offensive Player of the Year and earned second team all-Ohio honors. He was a first team all-OVAC selection.

Threet played for head coach Andrew Yahn at Bridgeport and will take his talents to Muskingum University in the fall.

He is the son of Jarrod Wallace and Casey Oliver of Bridgeport.
