Barrett-Jackson draws a crowd in Columbus

COLUMBUS — Barrett-Jackson fueled the passion for the collector car hobby across Ohio during the company’s inaugural Columbus Auction, June 25-27, at the Ohio Expo Center & State Fairgrounds.

The Columbus Auction featured 550 vehicles that generated more than $37 million in sales with 100% sell-through. More than 60,000 people reportedly attended the event.

“We chose Columbus as our newest destination because it’s a location where the passion for collector cars runs deep,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “From the moment the doors opened, the Columbus Auction captured the exact same look, feel and energy as our iconic Scottsdale Auction. The incredible turnout by fans, bidders and consignors, and the remarkable sales over these three days, proved that the Buckeye State was revved up to make collector car history with us.”

The top 10 vehicles sold during the inaugural Columbus Auction include:

• 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder, $2,695,000.

• 2021 Ford GT ’66 Heritage Edition, $1,100,000.

• 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429, $1,045,000.

• 2022 Ford GT, $913,000.

• 2021 Ford GT Studio Collection Series Edition, $863,500.

• 1967 Ford Mustang Eleanor Licensed 25th Anniversary Limited Edition, $550,000.

• 2014 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, $423,500.

• 2021 Mercedes Benz AMG GT Black Series, $418,000.

• 1967 Ford Mustang Eleanor Widebody Limited Edition, $357,500.

• 1968 Ford Mustang Licensed Eleanor 25th Anniversary Limited Edition, $327,800.

Barrett-Jackson also offered 255 pieces of authentic automobilia, all selling with no reserve, that generated more than $1.1 million in total sales. Top automobilia items included:

• 1920s Standard Gold Crown Fry Model No. 17 Mae West Visible Gas Pump, $138,000.

• Late 1950s-Early ’60s Texaco Oil Porcelain Sign with Animated Neon, $44,850.

• 1928 Sinclair Oil Wayne Model No. 615 Gas Pump , $34,500.

• 1950s Chevron Dealer Porcelain with Animated Neon Sign, $28,750.

Two charity vehicles including a 2022 Ford Bronco sold for $90,000 to benefit the Joe Burrow Foundation and a custom 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71 pickup sold for $150,000 to benefit the Call of Duty Endowment.

“We wrote an exciting new chapter in our history last week, and we look forward to returning to Columbus’ incredible new facilities for our 2027 auction in Ohio,” Jackson said.
