UNITY — Paxton Grimes had a single and triple to help lead Beaver Local to a 7-3 win over East Palestine on Thursday at Ace of Diamonds.

Jhett Boyd added two hits and an RBI. Aiden Dray had a double.

AJ Bowser was the winning pitcher with five walks and six strikeouts in four innings.

For East Palestine, Mason Gorby had two hits.

Mason Gorby took the loss with three strikeouts and four walks in five innings. Clark Rutledge pitched the last two innings, walking two.

Beaver Local (12-8) hosts Martins Ferry on Monday.

East Palestine (6-8) will host Springfield today.

Crestview 5, Marlington 0

COLUMBIANA — Grant Snyder struck out two and walked two on his way to a complete-game shutout in Crestview’s 5-0 win over Maplewood on Thursday.

Kyle Booth had two hits and an RBI for the winners. Isaac Unkefer added a double.

Crestview (12-4) will be at LaBrae on Monday.

Heartland 8, Leetonia 4

LEETONIA — Hudson Miller whiffed 12 while walking two over six innings to lead Heartland Christian to an 8-4 win over Leetonia on Thursday.

Paul Bender had a triple and two RBIs for the Lions. Evan Farrell added two hits and an RBI. Conrad Bender had two hits.

Jason King had two hits and an RBI for the Bears. He was also the losing pitcher with 10 walks and three strikeouts.

Heartland (7-9) hosts Wellsville today.

Leetonia (4-9) is at Lisbon on Monday.

COLUMBIANA — Braydon Songer had two doubles, a single and two RBI as Hubbard ran away with a 10-2 win over Columbiana on Thursday at Firestone Park.

For the Clippers, Beckett Wilson had two hits.

Jackson Davis took the loss with three walks and two strikeouts over five innings.

Columbiana is 8-9 and hosts United today in a key Eastern Buckeye Conference encounter.

Marlington 2, Salem 1

ALLIANCE — Marlington’s Ben Warner singled home Matthew Baldwin with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to lead the Dukes to a 2-1 win over Salem on Thursday.

For Salem, Cameron Martin, Braydon Van Dyne and Vinny Yannucci had singles.

Jaxson Douglas took the loss with four walks and four strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings of relief.

Salem is 1-15 and 0-7 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference.

Salem is scheduled to play Mooney today at Cene Park.

Carrollton 6, West Branch 2

CARROLLTON — Carrollton’s baseball team outpaced West Branch 6-2 on Thursday in Eastern Buckeye Conference play.

For West Branch, Jeremiah Thomas and Drake Stryffeler had two hits each.

Thomas took the loss with three walks and a strikeout over nine batters.

West Branch (5-10 and 1-7 EBC) hosts Niles on Friday.

Salem 7, Carrollton 4

CARROLLTON — Shae Burkhart had three hits and two RBIS, while Aniya Jones and Morgane Blaine had two hits and an RBI each in Salem’s 7-4 softball win over Carrollton on Thursday.

Blaine got the win with three strikeouts and three walks in seven innings.

Salem is 4-8 overall and 2-5 in the EBC.

The Quakers host Harding today.

West Branch 7, Alliance 3

BELOIT — Ellie Tucker had a double, triple and an RBI in a 7-3 West Branch win over Alliance on Thursday.

Sara Schmidt added two hits and three RBIs.

Tucker was also the winning pitcher as she had eight strikeouts and two walks over seven innings.

West Branch is 7-9 overall and 5-3 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference.

West Branch hosts United today.

COLUMBIANA — Jackson-Milton totaled 15 hits in an 11-5 win over Crestview on Thursday.

For the Rebels, Cassidee Buckley had two singles and two doubles with an RBI. Rylee Cloutier added two hits.

Makayla McKee took the loss with four strikeouts and a walk in five innings.

Crestview is 9-8 and will be at LaBrae on Monday.
