Beaver Local piles on the hits vs. Palestine
CALCUTTA — Beaver Local jumped all over East Palestine in a 15-2 win in five innings on Friday.
Jett Johnson had three doubles and two RBIs for the Beavers. Paxton Grimes had two hits and three RBIs, while Aiden Dray had a single and double. Owen Moore had a double as well.
Braxton Hickman earned the win with four strikeouts and a walk in four innings.
East Palestine scattered five singles.
Kealin Simon took the loss as he went four innings and walked four with three strikeouts.
Beaver Local (17-9) hosts Claymont in a tournament game on Tuesday.
East Palestine (10-11) hosts Badger on Tuesday.

STRUTHERS — East Liverpool’s baseball team suffered a 7-1 setback to Struthers on Friday at Cene Park.
For the Potters, Donovan Shallcross and Elliott Fitch each had a double and single.
Aiden Durst was the losing pitcher as he struck out one and walked one in two innings.
East Liverpool is 4-22 and will be at Cambridge for a tournament game on Tuesday.

COLUMBIANA — Eli Cope’s RBI single with two outs in the seventh lifted Crestview to a 2-1 win over Warren JFK on Friday.
Wyatt Ervin got the win in relief with two walks in five batters.
Kyle Booth had a triple.
Crestview is 13-10 and hosts Lowellville on Monday.

MASSILLON — West Branch’s six-run third inning allowed the Warriors to get away with a 7-6 win over Perry on Friday.
Carson Wike had a single and double for the Warriors. Grady Close added a triple, while Drake Stryffeler and Grayden Grimm had doubles.
Chase Gee got the win with seven walks and two strikeouts in five innings of work.
West Branch is 8-13 and will host Field today.
