POLAND — The Salem girls scored 30 points in the two jumping events to leap over the competition at the 30th Poland Invitational on Saturday.

Senior Karlie Sampson won the long jump (15-feet-10 1/4) and junior Madelyn Gorby captured the high jump (5-0) as the Salem girls repeated as team champions.

Freshman Addison Hopple added a win in the 1600-meter run (5:28.39) as the Quakers topped the 20-team field with 119 points. McDonald was second with 74.

Salem senior Lucas Adams topped the boys by sweeping the long jump (21-11 1/4) and high jump (6-2).

Crestview junior Joshua Smith won the 110 hurdles (16.28).

The McDonald boys also repeated as team champions, edging Mineral Ridge, 76-75.

McDonald was fourth and Mineral Ridge fifth in the final race, the 1600-meter relay, to win the title.

The Salem boys were third with 66 points.
