Lisbon 6, Columbiana 5
LISBON — Ashton Hinchliffe singled home Mason Jones in the bottom of the sixth inning as Lisbon rallied past Columbiana, 6-5, Thursday to remain in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference title chase.
Columbiana took a 5-4 lead in the top of the sixth before Lisbon rallied with two runs. Bryce Esarey manufactured the tying run as he was hit by a pitch, went to second on a wild pitch and to third on a passed ball before scoring on a wild pitch. HInchliffe followed with the game-winning hit.
Lisbon improves to 6-7 overall and 4-1 in the EOAC. Columbiana is 7-8 and 5-2 in the EOAC.
Devin Kelly doubled, singled and drove in two runs for the Blue Devils. Logan Sturgeon, Esarey and Jones each had two hits.
Brady Carpenter went the distance for the victory. He gave up five earned runs with nine strikeouts and two walks.
Young topped the Clippers with a triple, double and single and drove in two runs. Hunter Davanzo doubled and singled. Beckett Wilson had two hits and Rocco Mediate doubled.
Drennen Bosela took the loss, giving up two earned runs and one hit with two walks in one inning. Young went the first five innings, allowing four earned runs with seven strikeouts and four walks.
Lisbon will play at Malvern on Saturday. Columbiana hosts Leetonia on Monday.

East Palestine 12, Chaney 2
UNITY — Shane Newman and Brad Bartels provided last-inning highlights as East Palestine topped Youngstown Chaney, 12-2, in five innings Tuesday at Ace of Diamonds.
Chaney had the bases loaded with one out in the top of the fifth inning trailing 4-2 and Newman came in and struck out the next two batters for the save.
Bartels finished it off with a three-run double in the bottom of the fifth as the Bulldogs walked off with a 12-2 victory.
Bartels pitched the first 4 1/3 innings, striking out seven and walking five.
Kealin Simon and Luke Kinkead each had two hits.
East Palestine (5-6) will host Oak Glen today.

Crestview 10, Lowellville 5
COLUMBIANA — Kyle Booth hit a bases-loaded triple and Grant Snyder a bases-loaded double to do most of the damage for Crestview in a 10-5 win over Lowellville on Thursday.
Snyder had two hits and five RBIs. Eli Cope and Wyatt Ervin each doubled and scored two runs.
Snyder drove in three runs with his first-inning double and Booth highlighted a five-run fifth inning with his triple as the Rebels took a 9-5 lead.
Wyatt Ervin pitched three hitless innings for the victory. He struck out six.
Lowellville was limited to four singles.
Crestview (9-4) will host Gafield on Monday.
Lowellville drops to 5-7.

Steubenville 14, East Liverpool 0
STEUBENVILLE — Rocco Nocera went 3-for-3 with two doubles, four RBIs and three runs in Steubenville’s 14-0 win over East Liverpool in five innings Thursday.
AJ Borsch also hit two doubles and Matthew Fabbro doubled and singled.
Big Red scored 11 runs in the second inning to pull away.
Noah Kokiko held the Potters to one hit. He struck out eight and walked none.
Braden Duke singled in the fourth inning for the Potters’ hit. He also took the loss, giving up 11 runs, seven earned, in two innings.
Steubenville improves to 10-4.
East Liverpool (2-16) at Weir on Tuesday.

Newton Falls 5, Heartland 2
NEWTON FALLS — Tyler Stinson’s two-run single in ta three-run sixth inning lifted Newton Falls over Heartland Christian, 5-2, Thursday.
Newton Falls added another run to snap a seven-game losing streak and improve to 3-7.
Leland Vargo tripled and got the complete-game victory, striking out 15 and walking four. He limited the Lions to four singles.
Evan Farrell took the loss, giving up one earned run in six innings. He struck out six and walked none.
Heartland is 4-8 on the season.
