Columbiana 20, Southern 0

COLUMBIANA — Ethan Lehnerd threw a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts, no walks and three hit batters in Columbiana’s 20-0 win over Southern Local on Wednesday.

Avery Young led the Clippers at the plate with three hits including a double and two RBIs. Lehnerd added three hits and two RBIs. Drennen Bosela had a double. Beckett Wilson, Hunter Davanzo and Liam McElwain had two hits each.

Mason Sosack took the loss with three walks and a strikeout in three innings.

Columbiana is 7-7 overall and 5-1 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference. Columbiana is at Lisbon today.

Southern fell to 3-8 and 3-6 in the EOAC. Southern hosts Lisbon on Monday.

East Palestine 11, Leetonia 3

LEETONIA — East Palestine swept the season series from Leetonia by turning in an 11-3 win over the Bears on Wednesday.

Brad Bartels sparked the winners with three hits. Luke Kinkead and Shane Newman had two hits and two RBIs each. Mason Gorby added a hit and two RBIs.

Kealin Simon got the win as he went all seven innings for the first time striking out nine and walking none.

Chase Bondi, Dominic Lewis and Ethan Mathia had two hits each for Leetonia.

Mathia took the loss with three walks and three strikeouts in five innings.

East Palestine is 4-6 and 3-5 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference. The Bulldogs host Chaney today.

Leetonia is 3-7 and 1-5 in the EOAC.

Leetonia hosts Sebring today.

Crestview 6, Heartland 1

COLUMBIANA — Kyle Booth had three hits including a double to help Crestview beat Heartland 6-1 on Wednesday.

Caleb Booth had two hits and two RBIs. Eli Cope also had two hits.

Logan Neff got the win with three strikeouts and no walks in four innings.

Paul Bender and Ben Gurski had hits for Heartland.

Christian Hamilton was the losing pitcher as he had three strikeouts and two walks in 3 1/3 innings.

Crestview is 7-4, while Heartland fell to 4-6

Crestview will host Lowellville today.

Heartland is at Newton Falls for a night game today.

EAST LIVERPOOL — Quentin Taylor had two singles, a double and an RBI in United’s 5-2 win over East Liverpool on Wednesday.

Ethan Newburn added two hits.

Lutes was the winning pitcher with five strikeouts and four walks over five innings.

Carstin Suznevich and Elliott Fitch had two hits each for the Potters. Braden Duke added a double. Donovan Shallcross took the loss with seven strikeouts and a walk in four innings.

United (9-4) will be at Salem Friday for a night game.

East Liverpool (2-15) is at Steubenville today.

SALEM — Salem managed five hits in its 12-5 loss to Carrollton on Wednesday.

Blake Bezon led the Quakers with a double. Bairon Exline took the loss with six strikeouts and three walks in five innings.

Salem is 1-11 overall and 0-5 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference.

The Quakers are scheduled to host United in a night game on Friday.

ALLIANCE — Alliance scored six runs over the first two innings to cruise to a 7-2 win over West Branch on Wednesday.

West Branch managed just three singles. Evan Springer took the loss with three walks and two strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings.

West Branch (5-7 and 1-5 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference) hosts Struthers on Friday.

STEUBENVILLE — Wellsville had two hits in its 14-3 loss to Steubenville Central Catholic on Wednesday.

Leland Monte and Austin Watkins had hits for the Tigers.

Colin Kessler took the loss with seven walks and a strikeout in 2 1/3 innings.

Wellsville (0-9) is at United on Monday.

Toronto 9, Oak Glen 8

NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. — Toronto’s five run outburst in the sixth inning shot the Red Knights past Oak Glen 9-8 on Wednesday.

Kaden Dragisich keyed the Bears with a single and triple. Sam Jenkins added a triple, while Cam Dittman and Noah Willey had doubles.

Dragisich and James Rohbeck combined for five strikeout and a walk on the mound.

Oak Glen (7-13) is scheduled to play at East Palestine on Friday.
