Columbiana 10, Salem 7

COLUMBIANA — Columbiana scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth to pull away from Salem 10-7 on Saturday at Firestone Park.

Beckett Wilson ahd three hits and two RBIs for the winners. Sam Inboden and Drennen Bosela had doubles.

Bosela was the winning pitcher with three strikeouts and a walk in two innings.

Bairon Exline led Salem with a double, triple and two RBIs.

Brendon Rocha took the loss with three runs, a walk and no strikeouts in a third of an inning.

Columbiana (3-5) hosts Wellsville today.

Salem (1-5) is at Minerva on on Tuesday.

Beaver 5, Struthers 2

STRUTHERS — Paxton Grimes struck out 13 while walking just two in Beaver Local’s 5-2 win over Struthers on Saturday at Cene Park.

Grimes also had a single and double with two RBIs. Peyton Martin had two hits.

Beaver Local (5-4) hosts Indian Creek today. Struthers is 1-6.

Lisbon at Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Lisbon lost its last two Myrtle Beach trip games by 14-0 scores.

Late Friday, the Devils lost to Mercyhurst Prep in five innings. Ashton Hinchliffe had the only hit. Aiden Myers was the losing pitcher with four strikeouts and four walks in four innings.

On Saturday morning, Bryce Esarey had the Devils only hit in a five inning loss to Atlantic College Academy.

Esarey took the loss with two walks and two strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings.

Lisbon (2-3) hosts East Palestine today.

WELLSVILLE — It was all East Liverpool in a 17-5 Potter win in five innings over Wellsville on Saturday.

Braden Duke led the Potters with a double, single and four RBIs. Donovan Shallcross added a single, double and two RBIs. Dre Brown had a double and two RBIs. Jayden Shaw had two hits.

Elliott Fitch tossed two innings and recorded three strikeouts and a walk in the winning effort.

Cooper Frank had a double for Wellsville. Leland Monte took the loss as he went 2/3 of an inning with seven walks and no strikeouts.

East Liverpool (2-8) hosts Harrison Central today.

Wellsville (0-5) is at Columbiana today.

MOGADORE — Field had big outputs in the second and fifth innings to do in United 9-2 on Saturday.

United was limited to four hits with Nick Lutes hitting a double.

Quentin Taylor was the losing pitcher with seven strikeouts and four walks in five innings.

United (5-2) is at Southern Monday.

Heartland at Maplewood (DH)

CORTLAND — Heartland Christian’s baseball team was swept by Maplewood on Saturday.

The Rockets won the first game 2-0 with Josh Suba striking out seven and walking four in the no-hitter.

Evan Farrell was the losing pitcher with 10 strikeouts and a walk in six innings.

Maplewood won the second game 15-7. For Heartland, Hudson Miller had a single, double and three RBIs. Paul Bender added a double.

Christian Hamilton was the losing pitcher with six strikeouts, four walks and four earned runs in 5 1/3 innings.

Heartland (1-5) hosts Warren JFK today.

BELOIT — Jeremiah Thomas went 4-for-4 with two runs as West Branch escaped Howland 4-1 on Saturday.

Chase Gee earned the win with four strikeouts and no walks in three innings.

West Branch (4-2) will host Marlington on Tuesday.

Oak Glen 3, Magnolia 2

NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. — Cam Carter’s bunt to the pitcher allowed Noah Willey to score on an error in the seventh inning to lead Oak Glen to a 3-2 win over Magnolia on Saturday.

James Rohbeck had an RBI triple, while Willey added two hits for the Bears. Willey was the winning pitcher as he went three innings in relief with seven strikeouts and no walks.

Oak Glen (5-9) hosts Wheeling Central on Tuesday.
