Clippers blank Devils

LISBON — Ella Eisenbraun and Reagan Bell combined on a one-hitter and Columbiana pounded out six extra-base hits in a 13-0 win over Lisbon in five innings Tuesday.

Eisenbraun pitched the first four innings, giving up a hit with four strikeouts and one walk. Reagan Bell pitched the final inning and struck out two.

Columbiana improves to 9-3 and 7-0 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference, tied with United for the league lead.

Lisbon drops to 4-9 and 3-5 in league play.

Alexis Sperling led the Clippers by going 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs. Callahan Ward and Eisenbraun each had had two hits, including a triple, and scored two runs. Bell tripled, singled and scored two runs. Brooke McKim drove in two runs with a double. Addison Marshall added a triple and Josie Hepler a double. Natalie Barrow scored two runs.

Abby Ammon singled with two outs in the first inning for Lisbon’s lone hit.

Columbiana scored five runs in the first inning, four runs coming with two outs.

Bell led off with a single on an 0-2 pitch, advanced on Kyla Hogan’s sacrifice bunt and scored when Eisenbraun’s fly ball was dropped in left field. Barrow singled up the middle and Sperling drove in two runs with a double that hopped off the center field fence to make it 3-0. Ward hit a shot up the middle off two Lisbon defender’s gloves to score Sperling. Ward then came home on Hepler’s double to center field.

Kamryn Peruchetti took the loss, giving up four earned runs with one strikeout and one walk in five innings.

Both teams return to action today as Columbiana hosts Southern and Lisbon entertains Crestview.

West Branch 12, Salem 1

BELOIT — Sara Schmidt had a double and two singles as West Branch handled Salem 12-1 in five innings on Tuesday.

Elly Biskup added three hits and two RBIs. Allie Brammer had a triple and single with two RBIs, while Ellie Tucker had a triple, single and two RBIs.

Tucker was the winning pitcher with three strikeouts and no walks.

Hadley Carlisle had two hits for Salem. Morgane Blaine was the losing pitcher as she struck out two, walked one and had six earned runs in three innings.

West Branch is 5-6 overall and 3-1 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference.

Salem is 2-5 and 1-3 in the EBC.

West Branch is at Carrollton today, while Salem is at Alliance on Thursday.

Champion 12, Crestview 2

WARREN — Champion swept the season series from Crestview with a 12-2 win in five innings on Tuesday.

For the Rebels, Alivia Shetler had a single and double.

Lilly Beaver was the losing pitcher as she walked five and struck out one in 2 1/3 innings.

Crestview (7-5 overall and 6-4 in the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference Gray Division) is at Lisbon today.

Oak Glen 18, Indian Creek 3

WINTERSVILLE — Oak Glen hit seven home runs as it clocked Indian Creek 18-3 on Tuesday.

Brayley Lash and Mattie Carney had two home runs each for the Bears, while Danica Holden, Kylie Robinson and Mikayln Balch also homered.

Oak Glen had seven home runs as a team coming into the game.

Carney and Macy Hartung had triples.

Carney was the winning pitcher with 10 strikeouts and a walk in five innings.

Oak Glen is 13-5 and will be at Wheeling Park today.
