Beavers have a day at the beach
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Addie Thurik had two singles and a triple while getting the win in the circle with four strikeouts and three walks in Beaver Local’s 9-3 softball win over Morgantown (W.Va.) on Wednesday in Myrtle Beach.
Ciara Call continued her solid start to the season with two hits and four RBIs. Brenna Jones had a triple, single and three RBIs.
Beaver Local (6-2) will play Knox Central this morning to wrap up its trip.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Oak Glen’s baseball team suffered two more losses on its Myrtle Beach trip on Wednesday.
East Carter of Kentucky knocked off the Bears 9-4 in an early game. James Rohbeck had a single, double and RBI for the Bears. Rohbeck also took the loss with four walks and six strikeouts in five innings.
Lake Center Christian of Ohio downed the Bears 16-5 in five innings. Camm Dittman had a double for the Bears. Luke Buckler took the loss with no walks, no strikeouts and six earned runs in three innings.
Oak Glen, who is 0-5 on the trip, fell to 2-8.
Oak Glen will end the trip against Columbiana today.
