Lisbon bats come alive in win over St. Thomas

LISBON — Abby Ammon had three hits and three RBIs as Lisbon’s softball team routed St. Thomas Aquinas 30-3 in five innings on Tuesday.

For Lisbon (1-0), Delaney Pickens added a double and triple with an RBI. Doubles were also hit by Ariel Dickey, Emelia Cook, Kyler Malone and Lexi Roush.

Kamryn Peruchetti was the winning pitcher with five strikeouts over three innings. Lexi Roush pitched the last two with a walk and a strikeout.

Lisbon is at Carrollton today.

Canfield 5, West Branch 1

CANFIELD — West Branch banged out 11 hits but could not escape Canfield with a win as the Cardinals edged the Warriors 5-1 on Tuesday.

For West Branch, Ellie Tucker, Layla Carreon, Carly Loper and Elly Biskup had two hits each.

Tucker took the loss in the circle with five walks and four strikeouts in six innings.

Caylee Ortiz got the win with four strikeouts and no walks.

West Branch hosts Boardman on Thursday.

Oak Glen 4, Beaver Local 2

NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. — Nevaeh Heath has a single, double and an RBI, while Brayley Lash added two hits and an RBI as Oak Glen’s softball team topped Beaver Local 4-2 on Tuesday.

Danica Holden added a triple and RBI for the Bears. She was also the winning pitcher with 12 strikeouts and no walks in seven innings.

For Beaver Local, Ally Wright had a double, single and an RBI. Addie Thurik and Macie Bourne also had doubles.

Thurik took the loss with nine strikeouts and a walk in six innings.

Oak Glen (1-1) is at Steubenville today.

Beaver Local (0-1) is at Buckeye Local today.

SALINEVILLE — Kennedy Andre had a single, double with an RBI while striking out five and walking three in an East Palestine 13-1 rout of Southern Local on Tuesday.

Emma Gingher had two hits and three RBIs for East Palestine, 1-0. Destiney Burtyk added a single, double and three RBIs.

Riley Digman had two hits for Southern, 0-1. Addison Andrenok took the loss with five walks and four strikeouts in three innings.

The two teams play again today at Ace of Diamonds.

WELLSVILLE –Wellsville’s softball team was on the ball in a 12-4 win over Leetonia on Tuesday.

Aleena Owens had a home run, triple, single and three RBIs for the winners.

Makayla Landess added three hits including a double. Madilynn Drysdale, Makenzie Thompson and Rylee Brown had doubles.

Makayla Landess was also the winning pitcher with 17 strikeouts and one walk.

For Leetonia players had singles.

Laniya Dubose was the losing pitcher with 11 strikeouts and six walks in six innings.

NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. — Weir scored one run in the sixth inning to edge Oak Glen 1-0 in baseball action on Tuesday.

Josh Maher and Kaden Dragisich had hits for Oak Glen.

Noah Willey was the losing pitcher with 13 strikeouts and a walk in seven innings.

Oak Glen registered its second straight scoreless game and is 0-2.

The Bears are at Shadyside on Friday.
