Landess pushes Tigers over the top
CHAMPION — Madelyn Landess rolled three strikes in the 10th frame of the third and final baker game to give Wellsville a 2,138-2,112 win over Warren JFK at Champion Lanes on Thursday.
The Tigers — who finished sixth in the OVAC Class 1-2A tournament on Saturday — improve to 16-1 on the season.
Madelyn Landess led the Tigers with a 213 game and 399 series. Makayla Landess had a 187 game and 359 series and Cameron Taylor a 179 game and 357 series.
Wellsville will play East Liverpool and Beaver Local at Walnut Lanes on Wednesday.
Crestview bowlers sweep McDonald
SALEM — The Crestview boys and girls bowling teams swept McDonald at Hunt Club Lanes on Thursday.
The Rebels won the boys match 2413-664, as Lucas Johnson had a 237 high game. Brody Brubaker had a 417 series, Peyton Mellott a 396 series, Milton Scott a 384 series and Chris Johnson a 277 series. For McDonald, Aaron Amicons had a 113 game and 207 series.
Crestview also won the girls match, 1590-1278. Blasey Biser led the Rebels with a 172 game and 311 series. Also for the Rebels, Kylee Wolfe had a 240 series, Nicole Kernich a 232 series and Lyv Barnett a 214 series. For McDonald, Remy Helt had a 131 game and 252 series.
