Crestview 62, Champion 26

COLUMBIANA — Crestview notched its 15th win by downing Champion, 62-26, in Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference Gray Tier play Wednesday.

Addison Rhodes totaled 34 points, eight rebounds and three assists to lead the Rebels.

Ava Bucey contributed nine points and seven rebounds and Brianna Baker had eight points, six rebounds and four assists. Karli Perry added seven rebounds and four assists.

The Rebels improve to 15-1 overall and 11-1 in the MVAC, one game ahead of LaBrae. Crestview will play at LaBrae in an MVAC showdown on Monday.

The Golden Flashes drop to 4-14 and 2-9 in league play.

Crestview jumped out to a 23-6 lead in the first quarter behind 15 points from Rhodes and six from Baker.

The Rebels led 40-13 at halftime and 60-25 through three quarters.

Crestview will host Garrettsville Garfield on Friday. The two-quarter junior varsity game will start at 5:30 p.m.

Carrollton 43, Salem 24

CARROLLTON — Carrollton is warming up by cooling off Salem for a 43-24 win Wednesday.

Carrollton improves to 12-5 overall and 7-1 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference, one game behind West Branch. Carrollton will host West Branch on Saturday with the league title on the line.

Kylie Ujcich scored a game-high 13 points, while Ryleigh Hanenkrat and Emma Shafer added eight points apiece.

Carrollton led 12-1 in the first quarter and 17-6 at halftime.

Salem drops to 10-7 and 4-4 in the EBC.

Maddy Andres scored eight points and Abby Knickerbocker six for the Quakers. Karlie Sampson grabbed nine rebounds.

Carrollton also won the junior varsity game, 28-26. Ava Lee scored 13 points for Salem.

Salem will host Marlington on senior day Saturday. The junior varsity game will start at noon.

BELOIT — West Branch scored the first 10 points and never looked back in beating Alliance, 55-16, in Eastern Buckeye Conference play Wednesday.

West Branch improves to 14-2 overall and 8-0, one game ahead of Carrollton. West Branch will host Carrollton on Saturday, weather permitting, with the EBC title on the line.

Alliance drops to 4-12 — including wins over East Palestine and Leetonia –and 0-8 in the EBC.

West Branch led 10-0 in the opening 2 1/2 minutes and 15-2. The Warriors went on a 21-0 run to build a 36-4 lead.

West Branch led 41-5 at halftime and 50-5 through three quarters.

Alliance will host Minerva on Saturday.

Toronto 58, Wellsville 16

TORONTO — Toronto ran over Wellsville, 58-16, Wednesday.

The Red Knights improve to 7-11, while the Tigers drop to 0-16.

Wellsville will host Valley Christian today.

Beaver JVs win

CALCUTTA — Beaver Local topped East Liverpool, 39-15, in a junior varsity girls basketball game Wednesday.

Mercedes McCullough and Madi Gaydos each scored 10 points for the Beavers, who are 10-4 on the season.

Aubrey Lyle had six points for the Potters.
