East Palestine calls off sick
EAST PALESTINE — The Salem at East Palestine boys basketball game scheduled for Tuesday was postponed due to illness.
East Palestine coach Tristan Reynolds said a majority of the players and coaches are out with the flu.
The Bulldogs will be off until Jan. 6 when they play at Leetonia.
Canton hosts Stagg Bowl
CANTON –The NCAA Division III national championship football game will be held Sunday night at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.
Defending champion North Central (Ill.) is playing in the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl for the sixth straight time. The Cardinals (14-0) won national titles in 2019, 2022 and 2024.
They will play Stagg Bowl first-timer University of Wisconsin-River Falls (13-1) at 8 p.m. Sunday. It will be televised live on ESPN.
Gates will open at 6:30 p.m.
General admission tickets are $25. Parking is $20 the day of the event or $12 if purchased in advance.
