Ramgeets lead Devils past Columbiana

Lisbon 68, Columbiana 55

COLUMBIANA — The Ramgeet brothers combined for 46 points in leading Lisbon past previously-unbeaten Columbiana, 68-55, in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference play Tuesday.

Sophomore Aidan Ramgeet totaled a career-high 26 points and senior AJ Ramgeet added 20 points and 10 assists for the Blue Devils, who improved to 6-2 overall and 4-1 in the EOAC.

Blaine Barnes added 11 points, six rebounds and six assists. Logan Sturgeon had nine points, including a key basket late in the fourth quarter, and eight rebounds. Ashton Hinchliffe grabbed eight rebounds.

Columbiana dropped to 7-1 and 4-1 in the EOAC. Valley Christian leads the league with a 5-0 record.

Lisbon led 58-53 and held Columbiana to two points in the final 3 1/2 minutes to pull away.

Aidan Ramgeet had a driving layup with 2:20 remaining and was 6-for-6 from the foul line in the final 75 seconds to secure the victory.

Lisbon led by nine points in the first and second quarters, but Columbiana came back and tied the score at 41-41 and 43-43 late in the third quarter.

Cooper Brown topped the Clippers with 18 points. Hunter Davanzo contributed 16 points and Senator Johnson nine.

Columbiana will play at Lakeview on Dec. 30, while Lisbon travels to Heartland Christian on Jan. 3.

Columbiana 54, Lisbon 17

COLUMBIANA — The Columbiana girls basketball team bested Lisbon 54-17 on Tuesday as part of the We Fight Cancer games. Annah Clemmer led the winners with 20 points, while Evy Rapp had 17 points. Columbiana is 9-2 and 6-1 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference.

Lisbon fell to 5-5 and 3-4. The Blue Devils have lost five out of the last six.

Columbiana won the jayvee game on Monday 48-7. Alexis Davis had 13 points for the Clippers. Delaney Pickens had four for the Devils.

Columbiana is at South Range on Jan. 3.

Lisbon is at Mathews on Monday.

United 57, Leetonia 15

LEETONIA — United won its fifth straight girls basketball game with a 57-15 win over Leetonia on Monday.

United is 6-4 and 5-2 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference.

For the Eagles, Maelee Smith had 29 points, eight rebounds and seven steals. Bella Thompson had 11 points, seven assists and five steals. Reagan Good added eight points and six rebounds. Marin Stryffeler had five stals.

United hosts Minerva on Dec. 29.

United won the jayvee game, 23-3. Kylie Holmes had seven points.
