Three Beavers place at Brecksville

BRECKSVILLE — Beaver Local had three wrestlers place on Tuesday at the Brecksville Invitational Holiday Tournament.

Jake Hughes (19-3) was third at 157 pounds after scoring a 5-3 decision over Dublin Coffman’s Eli Esguerra in the consolation final.

Jordan Bates (15-2) finished fourth at 106 pounds after suffering a 5-0 defeat against Perrysburg’s Collin Bagdonas in the consolation final.

Evan Ours (15-6) was eighth at 165 pounds.

Beaver Local finished 21st out of 43 teams.

Nezbeth wins at Kenston

KENSTON — West Branch’s Beau Nezbeth won at 150 pounds to lead West Branch wrestlers on Tuesday at the Kenston Invitational Tournament.

Gavin Hang added a second-place finish at 215 pounds. Finishing third for the Warriors was Jackson McDonald (106). Fourth-place finishers included Carter Day (113) and Jackson Shin’s (190).

Justin Marra (175) was fifth and Grady Rockwell took eighth at 285.

West Branch finished fourth out of 33 teams.
