Beaver Local 64, Harrison 43

CADIZ –Owen Hill tallied 19 of his 23 points in the first half to push Beaver Local to a 64-43 win over Harrison Central on Tuesday.

Luke Rettos had 14 points for Beaver Local, 5-0.

The Beavers will travel to East Liverpool on Friday for a boy-girl doubleheader.

This was the first of five straight road games for Beaver Local who won’t be at home until Jan. 3.

Harrison Central is 0-4.

Harrison won the jayvee portion, 44-18. Nathan Pusateri and Owen Moore had five points for the Beavers.

CONNORVILLE –Dre’Keim Abercrombie scored eight of his team high 16 points in the third quarter to lead East Liverpool to a 67-34 win over Buckeye Local on Tuesday.

Javan Dawson added 14 points for the Potters.

East Liverpool will host Beaver Local in a boy-girl doubleheader on Friday night.

Boardman 54, West Branch 49

BOARDMAN — Boardman captured its first win of the season by downing West Branch, 54-49, Tuesday.

The Spartans improve to 1-4 under second-year head coach Steve Flores, a 1997 graduate of East Liverpool High School.

Jayse Varley led the Spartans with 16 points, followed by Jerry Smith with 14 points.

West Branch was led by Jeremiah Thomas, who had a game-high 18 points and three steals. Grady Hirst contributed 11 points and eight rebounds and Gavin Gregory 10 points and nine rebounds.

WB moves to 2-3 on the season.

Boardman also won the junior varsity game, 59-35.

Both teams play Friday with West Branch hosting Alliance in a battle of Eastern Buckeye Conference leaders, while Boardman entertains Warren JFK.

NEWTON FALLS — Newton Falls downed Crestview 79-42 on Tuesday in Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference Gray Division action.

Crestview is 1-3 and 0-2 in the league.

Newton Falls is 2-3 and 1-0 in the league.

The Rebels are at Champion on Friday.

Oak Glen 76, John Marshall 59

NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. — Gavin Geisse fired in 33 points as Oak Glen rampaged past John Marshall 76-59 on Tuesday.

Elijah Knisley added 12 points, while Will Weekley chipped in 10 points.

Oak Glen is 1-1 and hosts East Palestine Saturday.

YOUNGSTOWN — Sarah Reynolds tallied 24 points to lead Heartland’s girls basketball team to a 51- 35 win over Liberty on Tuesday.

Kaylin Norbo added 14 points for the Lions, 2-5. Gabriella McDowell chipped in eight points.

Heartland is at Southern on Saturday.
