East Liverpool rolls past Beaver

EAST LIVERPOOL — East Liverpool’s bowling teams swept Beaver Local on Wednesday at Walnut Lanes.

The Potter boys won 2,241-2,105. Grady Rudibaugh had a 232 high game and a 403 series for the Potters, while Kaleb Hanlon had a 195 high game and a 375 series. For Beaver, Justin Fisher had a 212 high game and a 358 series. Cameron Anderson added a 193 high game and a 348 series.

The Potter girls were 1,793-1,506 winners. Danni Riggle had a 173 high game and a 322 series. Lillian White had a 190 high game and a 331 series.

For the Beavers, Emmalee Wilder had a 137 high game and a 242 series, while Addy Newman had a 137 high game and a 246 series.

Salem bowlers swept

AKRON — The Salem bowling teams were swept by Green at Apollo 3 Bowling Center on Tuesday.

Green won the boys match, 2184-1883. For the Quakers, Donald Blackburn had a 208 game and 352 series, Caden Arcuri a 182 games and 340 series and Vinnie Yannucci a 185 game and 332 series.

In the girls match, Green posted a 34-pin victory, 1717-1683. Topping the Quakers was Kylie Smith games of 179 and 213 for a 392 series, Brooklynn Herold with games of 171 and 202 for a 373 series and Nora Shean with games of 146 and 179 for a 325 series.

Salem girls adjust schedule

SALEM — The Youngstown Cardinal Mooney at Salem girls basketball game on Saturday will start with a two-quarter junior varsity game at noon. The varsity game will begin at approximately 12:45 p.m. at Cabas Gymnasium.

United Way event slated

POLAND — The 13th annual United Way Holiday Basketball Classic will feature four high school basketball games at Poland High School on Dec. 13.

The schedule includes Struthers vs. Poland girls at noon; Girard vs. Campbell Memorial boys at 1:45 p.m.; Boardman vs. Austintown Fitch boys at 3:30 p.m.; and Canfield vs. Poland boys at 5:15 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and children and are good for all the games.
