Rebels perfect so far this year

Crestview 49, LaBrae 7

COLUMBIANA — Crestview earned its second undefeated regular season in school history with a 49-7 win over LaBrae on Friday.

The Rebels, champions of the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference Grey Division, are 10-0 and will have the second seed in Div. VI, Region 21 behind state power Kirtland.

Crestview outgained the Vikings 454-219. The Vikings had 120 yards of offense and a touchdowns on the Rebel JVs. Rebel quarterback Jake Noling had 105 yards rushing and two touchdowns. He also passed for 187 yards with touchdowns to Mikey Proctor and Ethan Kane. Trevor McElhaney had nine carries for 126 yards and two touchdowns.

Josh Smith had a fumble recovery on defense.

Crestview will have a bye this week and will host a second round game on Nov. 7.

Beaver Local 42, Lakeview 20

CALCUTTA — Richie Wyse returned a punt for a touchdown, Brady Nelson blocked a punt and Wade Foster threw three touchdown passes as Beaver Local downed Lakeview, 42-20, Friday.

The Beavers end the season at 6-4. They were eliminated from the Division IV playoffs when Heath defeated Utica, 46-7, Friday to claim the final playoff spot available.

Wyse scored on a 52-yard punt return after Lakeview went three-and-out on the opening possesion.

The Beavers added three touchdowns in the second quarter for a 28-7 halftime lead.

Foster scored on a 1-yard run and Lane Jones on a 7-yard run after Nelson blocked the punt at the Lakeview 13.

On fourth-and-15, Peyton Cowdery lined up in the backfield and went straight down the field to haul in a 26-yard touchdown pass with 15 seconds left in the second quarter.

The Beavers went ahead 42-7 in the third quarter.

Wyse opened the second half with a 34-yard kickoff return and Nicolas McKenzie hauled in a 39-yard touchdown pass on a flea-flicker with only 16 seconds off the clock.

Aiden Price had an interception and Luke Rettos caught a 75-yard touchdown pass from Foster on the next play to close out Beaver Local’s scoring.

Brayden Hall was 6-for-6 on extra-point kicks.

Lakeview had two more touchdowns on Claan Cunningham’s 88-yard kickoff return and Asa Lantz’s 10-yard run on the last play of the game.

Lakeview wraps up the season at 3-7, including a 1-6 mark against teams with winning record. The Bulldogs lost to Crestview and South Range.
