Legends will be made

CORTLAND — There will be 11 races at the Legends Cross Country Meet on Saturday on the fast Trumbull County Fairgrounds course.

Area schools entered are Canfield, East Palestine, Heartland Christian, Minerva, Salem, South Range, West Branch and Western Reserve.

Saturday’s schedule includes middle school boys and girls open race at 9:30 a.m., middle school girls teams at 10 a.m., middle school boys teams at 10:30 a.m., small division high school girls open race at 11 a.m., small division high school girls teams at 11:30 a.m., small division high school boys teams at noon, grades 3-and-under half mile at 12:45 p.m., grades 4-6 mile at 12:45 p.m., large division high school girls teams at 1 p.m., large division high school girls teams at 1:30 p.m. and large division high school boys and girls open at 2 p.m.

There will be a $5 parking fee per vehicle.

OVAC Cross Country Championship

CAMBRIDGE — The Ohio Valley Athletic Conference Cross Country Championship will be held Saturday at Cambridge High School.

Among the schools entered are Beaver Local, Columbiana, East Liverpool, Edison, Oak Glen, Southern Local and Toronto.

Saturday’s race schedule is 10 a.m. for varsity girls, 10:45 a.m. for varsity boys, 11:45 a.m. for combined boys and girls reserves, 12:45 p.m. for junior high boys and 1:10 p.m. for junior high boys. Tickets at the gate are $8 for adults and $6 for students. They are $2 less if purchased in advance at ovac.org.
