Devils gain two wins
STEUBENVILLE — Lisbon defeated Steubenville Central 22-25, 25-7, 25-12 and Cameron 25-12, 25-23 on Wednesday in OVAC consolation matches at Steubenville Central.
In the win over Steubenville Central, Maddie Marshalek had nine kills and eight digs, Gionna Lenigar added seven kills and two blocks, and Addison Anderson had four kills and 11 digs. Alayna Householder finished with three kills, while Stefanee Stacey totaled 25 assists, 10 points and four aces.
Against Cameron, Marshalek recorded five kills and two blocks, Lenigar had three kills and two blocks, and Anderson, Abby Ammon and Householder each had three kills and several digs. Stacey chipped in four kills and 18 assists.
Lisbon (11-11) will host Bristol in a Division IV sectional contest on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
East Palestine swept
WHEELING, W.Va. — East Palestine dropped a pair of OVAC consolation volleyball matches Wednesday at Wheeling Linsly.
The Bulldogs fell to Linsly 25-18, 25-22 and to Fort Frye 25-22, 25-20.
Against Linsly (20-5), Cami Kridler had 12 assists, nine digs and two aces. Destiney Burtyk tallied nine kills and four digs, Kennedy Andre had six assists, eight digs and four points, Emma Gingher added five kills and three digs, and Amara Wilson finished with three kills, five digs and eight points. Linsly is ranked No. 4 in West Virginia.
In the match with Fort Frye, Burtyk had six kills and eight digs, Wilson added five kills and 10 digs, and Alyssa Dilling totaled 13 digs, five points and two aces. Kridler chipped in six assists and four points, while Marley Blythe had 10 digs. Fort Frye is ranked No. 16 in the Ohio Division VI state coaches poll.
East Palestine (10-10) will play at Liberty today.
Girard 3, Salem 0
GIRARD — Salem’s volleyball team dropped a 25-17, 25-16, 25-17 decision to Girard on Tuesday.
Abby Knickerbocker had 12 kills and four blocks for the Quakers. Macy Troy had 17 assists.

Hubbard 1
HUBBARD — West Branch wrapped up its regular season with a 13-9 record after a 25-20, 25-12, 23-25, 25-16 victory at Hubbard on Tuesday night.
For the Warriors, Aislyn Ring had five points, two aces, one kill, 14 assists and 13 digs. Ellyana Biskup added 15 points, one ace, one kill, 17 assists and 10 digs. Kendelle Hoopes finished with 13 points, three aces, five kills, one assist, two blocks and 16 digs. Audrey Ring contributed nine points, two aces, 12 kills, two assists, 11 blocks and one dig.Madilyn Hoopes tallied 15 kills, three blocks and seven digs, while Abigail Janosik had 10 kills, two blocks and five digs. Kendyll Kaley chipped in three points, one ace, two kills, five blocks and two digs. Cailyn Fritz added two kills, one assist, four blocks and two digs. Chloey Sanor rounded out the effort with seven points, one ace, one kill, five assists and 17 digs.
West Branch will host a Div. IV sectional against Streetsboro at 7 p.m. on Oct. 16. The Warriors and Rockets will follow the 5 p.m. match between Struthers and Holy Name.

Columbiana 3, Crestview 0
COLUMBIANA — Columbiana’s girls soccer team was a 3-0 winner over Crestview on Wednesday.
Columbiana is 8-5-3, while Crestview fell to 3-11-3.
Josie Hepler had three goals for the Clippers. Kendall Montgomery, Aubrie Quetot and Madison Janis had assists.
Columbiana is at Champion today.
Crestview will play at Bristol next Wednesday in the tournament.

COLUMBIANA — Crestview’s boys soccer team earned a 3-0 win over Campbell Memorial on Wednesday.
Crestview (14-3) will host Clearview next Wednesday in the tournament.
Campbell fell to 9-6-1.
Springfield 3, United 2
HANOVERTON — Springfield Local’s girls soccer team was a 3-2 winner over United on Wednesday.
United is 8-7-2, while Springfield is 12-3-1.
Kiley Hetherington and Elli Powers had one goal each for the Eagles. Bella Thompson had an assist.
Calee Ruthrauff had nine saves in goal for United.
United will host Rittman in a tournament game next Wednesday.
West Branch 4, Dover 2
BELOIT — West Branch’s girls soccer team edged out Dover 4-2 on Wednesday.
West Branch completed its regular season undefeated at 14-0-2 and tied the school record for wins in a season. The team also broke the record for least amount of goals surrendered with five.
Ellie Tucker had two goals, while Allie Brammer and Elli Colian added single tallies. Alinee Bacconi had an assist. Audrey Eaton had two saves in goal.
The Warriors, seeded second, have already advanced to the district round of the Div. IV tournament after No. 38 seed Crestwood declined to play West Branch on Tuesday in a sectional contest.
West Branch will play the winner of No. 23 seed Akron Manchester and No. 20 seed Woodridge on Oct. 21 in the district semifinal.
